I sent that elevation link to my son in Pullman and it said 2,400 feet.   He was shocked!  He had no idea that Pullman was that high... almost the same elevation as Snoqualmie Pass.    I knew it was around there... but its so deceiving because it feels like its lower than it is at our house.    You go downhill for 40 miles after the pass heading east and I think people subconsciously assume you are at the same elevation as Seattle across all of central and eastern WA because its generally flat.

my 6 year old wanted to join me for shoveling snow tonight and he was great. I have one of those classic large shovels and he had a smaller plastic orange one (it was for snow as opposed to beach). I taught him how to push the shovel like a plow instead of like a construction digger. He did a good job considering his age and I did some touch up. But you should have seen him run and push that snow like a WSDOT driver. It allowed me to focus on the salt. He said "This is fun!" and now he wants more snow. #MoreofUs

Same thing in OR. You go from 500ft here to 4800' up at Santiam Pass by the Belknap Gap and then down to 4000ft in Bend.

Even as a kid I generally assumed eastern WA was higher than Seattle, since it was so much colder there during the winter. Of course the real reason is a bit more complicated, but their elevation is a big factor.

I took the Steelers ML. I liked them today as the weather conditions are looking pretty favorable inside Lucas Oil Stadium.

That and the Colts are shitt and I wish they would open the Lucas Oil Stadium roof when it snows.

That is so cool.   I was the kid growing up in Minnesota who had our driveway all shoveled out perfectly before my dad left for work at 6:30 a.m. because I wanted to build perfect snowbanks before there were tire tracks messing it all up.  😀

So many memories of being out there in the peaceful quiet... before the neighborhood woke up.

Can't do the sportsbook in Oregon.  I'm stuck with Fantasy teams, so who wins doesn't matter to me.

I'm curious if those super low dew points could be a point of concern. Too much of a good thing is certainly possible, in this case snow gobbling dryness.

I was starting to think the same thing. But in the absence of an east wind, does it have the same effect?

Weather geeks probably have a much different perspective and pay closer attention to those details.     I was telling my wife about our son's reaction to the Pullman elevation and she had no idea it was that high and also didn't seem to care.

30/17 in Everett now. Hard not to be impressed by that.

We’ve had quite a few overrunning snow events start with numbers significantly worse than that.

Taking kiddo back to the hospital. Jaundice levels spiked too high so now he gets fancy blue light therapy for the next day or so...

Trying to keep a positive mental attitude, but any prayers would not be dismissed either.

It is so tough to have to go back, but they are going to do a great job and get those levels down and baby will be well before you know it. Much easier to feed a non-jaundice baby too.

Will be thinking of your family!

Sorry to hear that. Had to take ours to the lab to get blood drawn the first two days we were home. It'll go down, but I'll be thinking about and be praying for you!

My wife is also inexplicably indifferent to information about elevation. And lots of other stuff I find interesting.

You could do offshore betting. And I usually do player props so somewhat of a fantasy sort of play. And DraftKings sportsbook is available in Oregon if you’re in Terrebonne.

Lol. What you talkin about Willis? The Oregon Lottery has had sports betting for a few years. You just can't bet on college teams for some fuckked up reason.

https://www.oregonlottery.org/sports/

I know that.  I will not do it being affiliated with the Oregon Lottery.  Once they took over Draftkings I checked out on it.  Greedy government and politicians were upset they weren't getting their cut.  Sports betting should be a private enteprise, just like Marijuana should've stayed.  It's a topic for the other forums so I will stop there.

Ya, my wife could care less if we are below or above sea level.  I can't even imagine that.

Same here.

I know too much info about too many things and my wife just rolls her eyes. She doesn't care about my 'fun facts with Jake'.

Although her and her brother were intrigued when I told then the Gulfstream 40,000 overhead yesterday was 47 years old!

Yes they are. And I like them. Yet they are still shitty.

They actually go all the way back to 1913 in Dayton, Ohio and when they're bad hooooo boy are they bad!
