After the dry 2 months we had a week of dry weather is almost impossible in November. Timothy!

Not an entire week but Monday-Thursday looks basically dry for the Seattle area.  As Justin and Andrew were saying... a more dynamic November is pretty nice because the alternative is usually constant light rain and drizzle and mild temps.

I am not opposed to a dry week in November, if it is like late November 2015 or 2013. Chilly nights cool to mild days. November 2019 was cool and dry and boring as crap. November 2008 was dry and warm, and boring as crap.

Really happy with an active colder November, hopefully the Alaska block stays for a long time and keeps the door open for white Thanksgiving and Christmas. One can hope.

Hard for me to root for an ice storm though, that stuff is just so deadly. If it comes to fruition I'd have to scratch any plans for the day and beg the family to not drive anywhere.

From the weeklies.  This is the last third of November, all 5 day averages.  I've seen worse.

This dovetails nicely with the November 1985 analog.

Light rain moving into western WA... the 36-hour rain event begins.     I am hoping to see some impressive rain totals.    I actually like these type of rain events.

I’m actually looking forward to the next 24 hours almost more than I am to next week. This has the chance to dump some truly historic levels of rain up here. Unfortunately it will probably get the midnight split, but it may end up being one of the wettest 24 hour periods in the last 50 years in my location. Probably need about 3” or so to be the wettest day recorded which definitely looks possible up here.

Sedro-Woolley has recorded 7 days above 3” of rain in the last 125 years. Three of those days are from the last 11 years when I’ve had my weather station and barely cracked 2”. I’m more in the rainshadow so I’d imagine my max day is definitely less.

Didn't even know they got snow lol

Great Dividing Range in SE Australia certainly does. Their highest mountain is 7310'.

Maritime cold fronts frequently reach into subtropical latitudes in Australia as well (even in summer sometimes) since there's no land between the south coast of Australia and Antarctica.

This can't be discounted yet; it will be cold enough Monday morning. sn10_024h.us_nw.png

Temps and DPs do look cold enough there but it looks like it’s probably way overdoing the amount of cold air getting into the lowlands. Shows 850s getting close to -15C up near the border.
