No wet snowflakes up at 400' on Maple Leaf hill. I'd say the snow level is around 1500-2000' over the region.

I think that is about right.

Just woke up to this.  5-10 inches today and 2-4 tonight.  And areas north will get more.  The 3 guys with cabins are getting clobbered.

Best part is it sticks around awhile.   It's even possible if we get enough that we won't see the grass again until. March.  That doesn't usually happen until early  December.   Temps may warm up enough during the day to limit accumulation.  If not we could get more than advertised.  Either way snow this early is a bonus

Sounds mild.

Sounds like they are getting wet snow up in Blaine (doesn't appear to be sticking) and up towards Maple Valley (not surprising for the latter).  Holding at 36 with light rain IMBY

There are some pretty heavy showers in that area that are dragging the snow level down.

Outside of those areas, it seems to be in the 1000 to 1500 feet range.

37F and 0.40" on the day here. According to the 06z GFS I should have 3-4" of snow currently, so they may have to fix that algorithm at some point...

Snow is looking like a realistic possibility tonight.  Raining and 38 here right now and the air mass is supposed to be quite a bit colder tonight.

Hoping for some surprise precip when it's cold enough here even though that's a very low chance

At this time the chance of accumulating snow
on the valley floor remains less than 10 percent, but it is not zero.

A lot of terrain details give him chances for snow in a number of scenarios.   Pretty interesting microclimate.

Looks like almost 2”, it has slowed down now. 32.9. Wish I could enjoy it more but I’m getting sicker by the minute…And we still do not have power. Had to run down to the River Rock gas station at exit 210 and get more generator gas earlier (just lumpy rain there) thought my head was going to explode and had yo wait quite a while since only half of their pumps work oh generator power. But we are now set for a few more days if needed.

Actually, it’s not. There is sticking snow in some of the heavier showers in the BC Lower Mainland and Whatcom County.

Yuck. Flu? COVID? Cold? Whatever it is, nothing sucks more than being too sick to enjoy a snow day.

Of COURSE it has....

My guess is there was cold / dry outflow from the Stillaguamish River valley that gave him enough evaporative cooling to pull it off.  I never would have predicted snow for him this morning though.

I think it was the intensity of the precip in the back edge of that band.

I think if the east wind was helping then we would have had snow here too.    The wind was out of the east here all night and into this morning ahead of that incoming band.     But precip intensity was pretty light here... the best dynamics were near the Sound.

I had something similar last week. But it wasn't covid according to tests. I wondered if it was this new-fangled RSV... But it went away in 36 hours so hopefully you get the similar quick turnaround.

WRF is always wrong. Your location is an exception though.

For him it will come down to how much moisture actually arrives.  They will be cold enough for a good period of time.  Such a bummer for places a bit south.  If the block had been just a tad east significant snow would hit further south.

I heard it's going to be a nasty flu this year.  As you say though the good thing about the flu is usually goes away fast.
