Gorgeous... but have to say that sounds sort of painful! Almost 80 degrees here at 10:45 am with a nice breeze to make it feel comfortable.

Side note... I won't post any more pics from here.   Looks comfortable at home this week too.  The older I get the less I like that bitter cold.   I am so wimpy.    40s and 50s is a good winter temp for me even if it usually comes with rain.   Makes the times it works out (like last Christmas) more special.

I’m good with your pics, keep them coming! Not like there is anything going on weather wise here right now. Looks amazing!

One is enough... some would say that is too many.   Maybe I will post some more later in the sports thread.   And I have to figure out how to watch the Seahawks tomorrow morning.

Low of 35 this morning. These past few days don’t even qualify as a cold snap here at all. Definitely a decent change from just a few weeks ago.

I wonder if the local market will show the game since a Florida team is playing? (You are in Florida correct?) Otherwise your nearest sports bar!

I heard KIRO is carrying the game in Seattle but it didn't even dawn on me that the game involves a local team here too.  👍

Frosty! 30 for a low. Currently 33 and sunny. Just replenished my gas reserves for the generator/snow plow, etc so we are set for the next major winter storm! Whenever that might be. I have such a massive amount of yard work/storm clean up to do but I’m still trying to get over the nasty cold that took me down a week ago. Tis the season!

Are you at that resort in South Carolina again?

No... in Florida.   Actually going to be too cold in South Carolina this week.    Only Florida stays on the warm side of that big trough.

How do you like living in that area? I was thinking of moving to Bend or Redmond Oregon.

Stay away from Bend at all costs!!  Redmond north or east out to Prineville is nice.  Bend has become too big for it's britches and everything that comes along with that.

It dropped to 28 here.  A week of highs well below 50 and 6 freezes now.  Pretty solid.

31 after a low of 27.  It cleared up nicely early this morning for my 8th sub-freezing low this month.  A brisk and beautiful morning out there.

I think it's a bit of a stretch to say this month hasn't been cold so far.  The departures from normal for the month to date are quite impressive.  SEA -6.0, BLI -7.0, OLM -5.0.  Then of course you have the epic cold that has happened over Central WA and OR.  IMBY the average low has been 33.5 month to date with more cold nights yet to come, and only one max of 50+.

Low of just 39 here this morning, cloudy all night then burned off right after sunrise. Clear and 43 now, should hit low 50s pretty easily today. Hopefully we can join the freezing lows party tonight.

Snow picking back up once again!!!!  I can only imagine that low coming in about 100 miles further north though and bombing.  Hopefully it happens in December.

Gonna be a fun one.

That would be one hell of a run of cold mins for SEA.  Also just plain cold the second half of the run.

We seem to be getting really good at dry streaks...

Not during the normal wet season.  In recent years WA has been quite wet during the Oct through May period.

Yeah, I can't remember a similar dry spell in November... ever. Which is why this one may be record-setting.

This sequence has really limited the typical explosion of weeds that we get in the fall. Non-irrigated plants went straight from summer-dormant to winter-dormant, skipping the so-called "second spring" we get in a typical PNW fall.

When I got up for work this morning at 3:30 it was 42, at 6 it was down to 31, was kinda surprised by that drop.

Only hit 33 this morning, if we get to freezing before midnight we can run our streak to 7 days. Rained 0.17 yesterday, took out quite a bit of the snow finally. Still a few inches in the fields.

Got down to 28 last night. Now at 6 straight days with freezing temps for lows. Even pulled off a 41/28 and 42/25 on Tuesday and Wednesday from this. I’d call this a solid cold snap at my place for how early this is happening. Up to 49 for the day so far.

Late November 2013 perhaps

These kind of November dry spells often lead to really good stuff later.  In 2000 we narrowly missed getting crushed by the December cold blast.  Obviously we got blasted in Dec 2013, then you have years like 1936.
