In the span of about 12 hours, the star magnolia in the backyard has shed about half its foliage. Guess getting snowed upon and then a night in the low 20's F sent it a message.

A safe forecast would be periods of sun, clouds, a slight chance of showers/rain late Friday, then back to nice weather with Gorge winds. However, several GFS Op runs, and the 12z GEM today suggests the potential for backdoor cold air sliding south out of the Canadian prairies and spilling back into eastern Washington after Day 7. Additionally several GFS Ensembles members suggest this as well. I don't see enough support just yet to be confident for this, but it's not impossible at the same time. We shall see....

48/28 day here. Crystal clear all day but low clouds sure rushed in right around sunset. PDX probably won’t even fall below 40 tonight.

I think we picked the right time for a Florida vacation... tropical storm is gone before we get there and next week is day after day of coast to coast cold except for Florida.     I think Jared mentioned that its been a long time since its been cold across the entire country.

Clouds are just about to run over me.  Still open sky and 28.6 here but soon to go up.
