925 temps haven't nosed up much in the last few hours. PDX looks good to stay all snow throughout the daylight hours today looking at this.

Did anybody else notice BLI has been reporting light snow for the past 6 hours? Either there's something wrong with the conditions reporter or the wind is blowing things past the window and they think it's snow.

The funny thing is if the metro gets an inch or two people will say Mark was wrong and the NWS was right, because they don't pay attention.

Hard to believe we could possibly be looking at another arctic event by Tuesday.

I'm still skeptical.

Seems to good to be true. Last couple runs would give me 2-4" of snow Sunday/Monday...

What do you think? I received a little over 7" on Monday, so would be nice to add another 10 to that!

It's a really tough call, but I don't buy the GFS and NAM for metro Vancouver. The cold air is not going to scour out that quickly. I can understand for areas to our south that haven't really cooled off the same way, but I don't see warm air advection being that strong at 925mb this far north.

I'm going with 4" tomorrow and another 4" on Saturday.

Definitely warm air advection occurring with this next batch. This will test the PDX layer. I think west metro will do well

Thanks for the reply.

The GDPS remains aggressive with 18" of snow... But I think it's underestimating cold air eating away during precipitation onset and some shadowing effects. But the switchover to rain on the GFS and NAM is bullish.

I'm more in agreement with the Euro which shows 4-6" on Friday... but gives nothing Saturday due to a borderline changeover to wet slush, which I'm not so sure I agree with. It's an incredibly close forecast. If the 925 does stay solidly cold, Saturday could be a massive over performer for northern WA and metro Vancouver.

My 4" call for Saturday is more so a hybrid forecast and I figure accumulation may suffer from the borderline nature of the event. But hell, Mondays snow was borderline and there was 6-8" in many places.

What holiday is Dec 15?

Meaning, the holiday period. In my mind that's the third & forth weeks in December. Make sense?
