This has turned into a great snow - big fluffy flakes and a little wind, feels like ages since we've had something like this around here. First wave was disappointing, but this is definitely making up for it!

Wind driven powda! Just how I like it. Flashbacks of '13-'14 while driving back from the gym. Roads are pretty icy and dicy.

Pretty decent deformation band here today. Started at around noon-ish and just finished. I had a total of 3.2" + 0.4" last night. Took an average of 5 locations. My total seems a bit higher than the areas around me so maybe I'll have to choose some different areas next time when there is blowing and drifting. Wind still continues to blow hard and roads are a mess. I'd call this an over performance as this is not at all what I was expecting.

Just took a stroll around the neighborhood and its a wind driven white out at times!  Very powdery snow, although, it has let up some over the last few minutes.  I love to enjoy this stuff during the holidays with all the Christmas lights and decor.

Speaking of lights - just noticed one of my lit-up trees went dark. Outlet somewhere in a sea of snow - figures!

Picked up already a little over 1" in the defo band...hoping to pick up another couple...

That's really odd. Snow is coming down sideways. Had my ski mask on when I went outside.

RGEM handled the lake band the best with this system...all the other higher rez models had the band over the lake and then targeting Porter county and points east.  It's probably coming down real hard in downtown.

I finished with 2.3 inches today and 0.3 inches last night.  Models struggled with the defo band, but we ended up doing about as well as we could have and avoided a bust.

I'd say we got 8" - 8.5" here or so. The second wave was a nice addition to the disappointing first wave. Happy to see the snow mounds growing nice and high, especially after last year!

I'll take it - starting to remind me of December of 2007 (I think it was) - outside shoveling constantly. Nothing like a little wall of snow on either side of the driveway!

E/C Wisco seems to have been the epicenter of this system which the GFS was targeting (although on the high end of predicted snow) as well as the EURO.

BTW, if you take photos with your phones, it's best to take them with your phone horizontal bc when you upload them they end up posting the right way.  That's what I've noticed using my phone.

I think I was about 3" total for storm.....wind kicked in Saturday so it was difficult to measure.

Congrats on dbl digits over there! If I include a small squall we just had I scored 3.5, a fraction of what the GFS was showing for days n days. No winds, no cold, all day FRDZ it weren't much of a "storm" over here..But did refresh the pack that keeps getting cut down by the ground warmth.

GFS did okay with the placement of the heavier snow. Totally got a bit too snow happy though.
