Very impressive snowfall amounts. Maybe I should go there during the winter months. Seems like winter is better ova there.

Oh Niko, what a pain for me! I came in Canada even for the snow and meanwhile in my town they had the most important snowstorm of the last 20 years.

KRMY hit 52º before midnight...that's a chilly night in C FL in January. I'll be shocked if Feb stays mild like this. At least the northland's been having a legit winter season which is much more important for tourism and such up there.

Toronto downtonw where i live around 45 cm. It was a great december but the snow at your home have a different taste.

Btw: eva been to Greece? I try to go there almost every summer?  Greeks and Italians are close neighbors afterall.

Yes..Corfu is beautiful. I usually go to Andros and Chios. I try to avoid staying in Athens during the hot summer months because it tends ta get very hot, so, the Islands are a much betta choice...cooler, although, sometimes, it can get hot also on the islands.

Yep, Europe (at least western) is getting the historic cold (thus snowy) winter we THOUGHT was coming our way (sigh). Remember the UK weather gurus predicting worst winter in like 35 yrs??

That is what I keep saying to myself. I thought we were in for a harsh winter?! That is why I am not a big fan of Long Range Winter Outlooks. Keep hope alive Jaster..we still have more winter ta go.

Yup, exactly. Its just a waiting game as to when and if the pattern will change and if it does, how much does it benefit us, if at all.

It is pretty astounding how different my last 30 days compares to most on here.  I am now sitting on 90th percentile for snow depth depth for the date, just had a pretty intense 6 hour blizzard yesterday, and woke up to widespread -35 to -40 readings this morning in northern minnesota.  

I am curious how the rest of winter is going to play out.  I know I am in the minority here hoping for the pattern of the last 30 days to come back soon after next weeks warm up.

Just came back from a 1 day trip to NYC and the weather there was quite nippy, but no snow otg or falling from the sky. It was great ta be back in my hometown. NYC so far has 13.0" I was told which I think is a tad below normal. February is their snowy month there, so plenty of time to make up for it.

  @ APX's graphic calling this week a "Jan Thaw" - a couple days of 41F.  Wish that was our problem. Not to mention it'll hardly dent their snow conditions. Was up there Saturday, right? Just south around Frederic and Waters the plow banks on I-75 where the MDOT trucks clear the emergency vehicle only cross-overs had to be almost 5 feet high!   And that was after the warm rain they got for some hours last Thursday. It's like another world the contrast; everlasting winter vs our everlasting autumn brown.

I believe that acronym means "At or Below"...assuming you mean "Above" 32F, I haven't dug into the statistics for ORD.  That is a good question for Tom Skilling..."Ask Tom Why"...

Another cloudy, dismal, but, dry day here in SMI. I cant even remember when was the last time I saw the sun. Believe it or not, my subdivision still has patches of snow at a few areas. They just don't wanna melt.

 

Btw: My grandfather once told me that when snow does not melt, it usually waits for the new snow to come.
