A little over 4" of new in Bend early this morning. Still snowing lightly, could potentially get another inch.

About 6-8" overnight.  Blowing good right now.  Drifting as fast as you can dig it out.

Today is my 15th day with measurable snowfall. March 2012 had 13 such days, but it is definitely the most of any winter since.

It looks like the low level outflow has finally made it down the Puget Sound. I can see a lot more northerly wind measurements at the stations down there. The upper level wind has switched from SW to SE since last night and that seems to have kicked up a few more flurries but also warmed things up slightly (even under continuing low level outflow). Currently 30.5F with light snow flurries. I doubt there was much more than 1/4" accumulation with the lighter snow after 12pm last night but it's amazing how persistent the snow has been since the start of this event on Sunday night. Of course that's nothing compared with what was happening in the Fraser Valley.

The wind moved up ~10mph from last night.  The gradient was not forecast to go further negative (-15 now) but the high pressure really built up today, almost 1021 in ywl atm.  We are going to have one helluva overrun mess with this next storm.  The gradients just won't go away. ugh.

I heard there was potential for a major icing event up there with the next system, wonder if it was stay snow or if you will have more ice...you guys up there are having a hell of a winter!

And there is a hydrologic outlook posted for Wed/Thus.

Area Forecast DiscussionNational Weather Service Seattle WA945 AM PST Tue Feb 7 2017.HYDROLOGY...From previous discussion...No river flooding expectedthrough Wednesday. A warm, wet Pacific frontal system will spreadrain across the area late Wednesday through Friday. At this pointaround 3 inches of rain may fall in the 30 hours from Wednesdaymorning through Thursday afternoon, with possibly as much as 5inches over the Olympics. S-SW winds at 850 MB will reach 45-55 KTover the Olympics resulting in a decently strong orographicenhancement to the rainfall there. Rivers will rise and there may besome potential for one or more to reach flood stage Thursday orFriday. Melting snow in the lower elevations leading up to the stormmight also contribute to putting moisture into the ground andthereby slightly increasing the runoff efficiency.

What an awesome scene in Bellingham.

Sunny and with snow on the ground... and even with a February sun angle at almost 2 p.m. the pavement is still snow-covered.

Beautiful.

Saw a mix of rain and snow this morning in downtown Portland. You could clearly see all snow falling above about 500 feet on the West Hills.

We lost our spotter from the West Hills.   Probably had snow sticking at her old house.

Snow ain't melting here

Roads are wet here.   I was just down in North Bend running errands and the ground is still covered but it was really sloppy with some massive puddles.

Lol, just took it. Here's one with my dog.

See above.

Awesome pics.   You must not be exposed to outflow wind either.    The trees look perfectly covered in snow.

Yeah, somewhere in Hokkaido. Absolutely crazy winter climate there with Siberian air rotating over the Sea of Japan, though I'm sure you already know this. Sapporo is a city of 2 million that averages about 240" of snow per winter.

It might have been northern Honshu. The Japanese Alps are where the Japanese snow records are set...but yeah Hokkaido isn't far behind.

Around Lynden. Wish the intersection at Smokey Point looked like this...though there would be crashed cars and zombie druggies wandering about if this was Smokey Point.

So cold and snowy fun in two weeks?

Keeping the idea more simple here, .. What I've projected is really only meant to provide a view of what "cold" will be doingor might.

Or in other words, to draw any conclusions (generate any type of forecast.) you (or anyone finding value in what I've suggested.) would additionally need to look, also, at what warmer and wetter air is doing.

Where it's sitting, and how it might work to set up, to more ultimately be "offset" by colder air, more in motion.
