Seattle schools already go till after the 4th of July this school year because of the teachers strike.

Not true but it could happen.  Apparently to reduce the likelihood of going into a July, instead of a snow day, they'll do remote learning for a day.

Needless to say, my wife isn't happy.

They sent out an email to the parents that the last day of school was 7/5 and a ton of the parents were pissed. I just asked my wife and she said they came back and switched it to remote learning on snow days.

My school has done this since before COVID. We get one snow day and then it's online school.

Pretty amazing.  The GFS shows that WA and MT will have the largest coverage of subzero lows tonight in the lower 48.  Very unusual pattern.
