Wow! Just woke up and we had no accumulation overnight here in downtown Everett at 170’. Not what I was expecting but oh well. About to drive to work in Mill Creek close to 500’ so I’m sure it’s going to look a lot different.

Yeah, a solid 3-4” fell in Silver Firs near Mill Creek overnight. Basically the second I left DT Everett I could see snow caked trees and amounts increased as I got further away from the water and had higher elevation.

A bit bummed out to see that we had basically .5” barely hanging on this morning (probably .6-7” total accumulation earlier). I needed another 50 feet of elevation.

I hope Portland can get some snow and I hope this isn’t it for the winter!

The wind was pretty calm last night here, but it seems like an easterly breeze is starting to pick up. Down to 35 with a dp of 25. I will be watching how cold and dry the air coming out of the gorge is today!

Dusting of snow up here in Bellingham. Temp hanging around 30.

I thought I had a dusting of snow here only to take the dog out and realize it was a crunchy layer of sleet.  🙄

Looking at the precip map... the main event up here is between 12-3 p.m. tomorrow.   The precip is done by sunset in the Seattle area.

It never really did much here in Fircrest either.  Watching the snow line on radar and checking real world conditions of course, I could pretty much tell it wasn't my night.  So I got a lot of sleep.  Looks like there was some slushy accumulation on the car's windshield, but that was it.   Overall a very fun week!

Nice! Do you have one son who goes to WSU and another who attends UW? Apple Cup must've been wild at your house.

Yes... house divided as they say.    They were both at the Apple Cup in Pullman so it was actually pretty quiet at our house that day.   They are good natured about it.   And my UW son often says he wishes his college experience could have been in Pullman instead of Seattle because of the small town environment.

Just drove from Everett to Downtown Seattle.

It snowed the entire way and was sticking on the trees along I-5 all the way through downtown but isn’t sticking at sea level near the stadiums. Sticking snow level must be literally like 50-100 feet right now.

That reminds me of the time maybe in  2019 or 2020 (?) when the Mariners had a promo based on how much snow fell at Safeco. It was mainly a North Sound special. They then made a video showing the Mariner moose carrying snow (probably from elsewhere) and shoveling it with a discount still offered.

Clear sky here now... going to be a sunny day.    Currently 37 in North Bend but the dewpoint is 29 so there doesn't seem to be any melting yet.

This was why I went to WWU instead of UW.

Not as much as the 6z but the GFS is still dead set on a band of precip over Portland

It did expand coverage to the north and looks more like the ECMWF up here now.    But still shows a good event in Portland too.
