The real kicker was that the GFS leading up to these events showed my area as one of the hardest hit ones... A complete opposite of reality.

Pretty legit cold air filtering into the area from the outflow.  Over east Oroville is 21 degrees gusting around 40.

Still not clearing out a whole lot. Would be nice to get some clear skies with snowcover but this is also keeping the temps down a bit too still just 33.

Questionable snowfall amounts on Euro as temps are most certainly not frigid. Not even below 35 overnight.

You're absolutely correct and this is why models guidance are critical. If we continue to see favorable blocking at GOA, I see no reason why we can't have a good winter.

Did that, dry easterlies. 28-30dp it seems. My guess would be temps are too high on this run as it's looking like there could be a decent amount of precip

I have copies of the actual paper records for SEA for 1945 through 1947.  Don't know why they are so hard to find online.

Yeah, I'm actually only a mile from the water. Up river they got a done. I saw a 10" report from Concrete on CoCoRahs, but west of I-5 there was nothing.

Yeah with those numbers snow is a for sure thing. I don't think flow ever turns onshore with this next system.

Give me a good ol fashioned arctic blast. This wet snow and marginal temps don’t really do it for me. I like highs below freezing and lows teens or lower for here.  Over there in the valleys I would want the same. That dam ocean!!

Weird mix of snow that packed a bit but wouldn't roll into bigger balls for a big snow man. 8 year old did pretty well on her own with a mini guy:

(Figure we got about 4 total inches between Tuesday and Wednesday but didn't measure and it compacted a lot!)
