PNW December 2022, winter might be coming; but mostly canceled.

I would be so pissed if I were in your shoes.  The other night was bad enough and I knew I would score the next day.  The real shocker of the event was how little places like Arlington and Mount Vernon got.

The real kicker was that the GFS leading up to these events showed my area as one of the hardest hit ones... A complete opposite of reality.

I'm not really pissed when others can score. I'm sure we'll have PLENTY more chances this winter. :)

Questionable snowfall amounts on Euro as temps are most certainly not frigid. Not even below 35 overnight. 1670058000-h3s72tDErK0.png

I hope you are correct but that certainly isn't a given.

You're absolutely correct and this is why models guidance are critical. If we continue to see favorable blocking at GOA, I see no reason why we can't have a good winter. :)

I hope so, this is the extent of my wintery precipitation coverage this winter. Even an inch would be nice, but normally during events like the one coming up the precipitation never makes it up here.

I'm guessing you are closer to the Burlington area, my son works in Hamilton and sent me a picture yesterday with about 3-4" on a picnic table outside their breakroom.

Check the dewpoints and surface flow ,

Did that, dry easterlies. 28-30dp it seems. My guess would be temps are too high on this run as it's looking like there could be a decent amount of precip

Ah, 1946 isn't in the WRCC records, only goes back to 1948.

I have copies of the actual paper records for SEA for 1945 through 1947.  Don't know why they are so hard to find online.

Half of that already fell. I think 1-2in is probably best case scenario

Still don't consider that a terrible scenario. Not gonna be a widespread event, but shouldn't be terrible for some areas.

Yeah, I'm actually only a mile from the water. Up river they got a done. I saw a 10" report from Concrete on CoCoRahs, but west of I-5 there was nothing.

It is drop dead gorgeous out there today.  The flocked trees against that cold looking sky.  Love it!

Yeah with those numbers snow is a for sure thing. I don't think flow ever turns onshore with this next system.

We come from the land of the ice and snow.
