You're a lucky dog.

Current conditions in my backyard, on a 100% cloudy, mid-80s June afternoon. You would die here in August.

You actually enjoy humidity? More power to you, I guess.

It's only June and we already have upper 70s dewpoints and tropical storm remnants headed this way. Mercy rule? Please?

Just one month to go. One month. Four weeks. Then I'm out of here until September.

I can do this.

Pure hell over there this weekend... inferno.

Strange pattern for July at 240 hours on the 00Z GFS.

Trough in the East is rock solid but now its joined by a trough int the west as well.

Hey. You're interfering with the narrative.

You live in f**king Colorado, 6000ft up.

You don't get to judge my temper tantrums. :)

Actually at 1050 feet depending on where you are standing.

PDX NWS lowered temps 3-4 degrees across the metro area and I can't ascertain why.

ECMWF shifted everything east on Sunday... and is much more aggressive with a cool down Monday.

5400'.

And I've spent a summer in coastal VA. Wasn't that bad.

Considering our avg summer heat index is only 3 degrees cooler than your dreaded New Orleans, I think you're trolling. ;)

We love when its 88 with a dewpoint of 75 during our annual family reunion in MN.    Everyone loves it.. awesome for water activities and the evenings are so warm.

Its only for a few weeks each year.

Then either you're not human or you're just catastrophically deprived of warmth and sunshine up there in the rainforest.

Nobody I know likes our 90/75 summer afternoons. It's 83/77 here right now and it feels disgusting. I hate this place.

There 32 of us at the family reunion each year... 24 of them live in Minnesota.   They all love the warmth.   :)

The entire family is asking for weather updates from me starting 10 days before and then all the way through our stay.   They get mad if I am not reporting hot weather.

Its only for a few weeks a year.   Get out on the water and enjoy it.

This is what I would love doing in a DC summer...

The DC area is an absolute boating gem. With hundreds of easily accessible destinations along the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay, there is something for everyone. The historic towns, scenic islands, dockside restaurants, and thousands of miles of shoreline all tell the stories from generations of boating. From sailing with the schooners out of Annapolis to cruising the Potomac to see the sights of Washington, DC, it would take you weeks (or longer) to soak it all in. Start your adventure by checking out more of our favorites below.

Is there room in the Potomac for my 6ft inflatable boat. That's all I can afford.

Is Shawnigan Lake a really popular boating spot up there?

You can get a used boat that is really nice for the price of a cheap car.   :)

I wish I had that kind of money. I do kayak the Potomac sometimes, usually around Great Falls, but the river water temperatures often soar above 90 degrees, which even makes kayaking miserable.

Last August the water temperature reached 97 degrees at Little Falls. Thanks, but no thanks. At least until September. :)

You are exaggerating.   The water temps look great around the DC area...

No, I'm not. We just had a big rainstorm a few days ago.

Water temperatures often sit between 85-90 degrees during the summer. http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?gage=brkm2&wfo=lwx

Get out and enjoy it!

You have plenty of big rainstorms in the summer months.   And it must be really awesome boating there in September and October.

If I had a boat, then maybe. Lol.

These are the bottom temperatures summer 2016. They run even hotter at the surface.

Looks like a heat wave up there for the first time this summer. Down in California the beaches were foggy with highs in the mid 60s, 10 miles inland has been as high as 90 F, and Ocotillo Wells in the desert was a blasting hot 124 F last Tuesday. You definitely get to pick and choose your climate here.

Also a 40 minute drive from Morro Bay to Paso Robles, which had respective highs of 58 F and 105 F last Wednesday.

That is probably a hot spot based on the other observations.   We love it when the water temp here is between 75-80.

I would love the guaranteed nature of the warm weather there.

I think it has to do with the depth of the measurements and speed of the streamflow. The surface waters probably run warmer than any of these measurements. I kayaked great falls a few weeks ago and it already was feeling like bath water.

The sun angle is about 70 degrees right now. That will warm stuff up pretty easily.
