I am sure there are rough areas in eastern OR and some beautiful spots. Just because its a desert does not mean its all gross and a joke.

A personal favorite spot of mine is the Boardman Bombing Range...

Seriously though. Eastern Oregon is pretty nice. The only terrible part of E. Oregon is the Lower Columbia Basin. Eastern Oregon tops E. Washington and its not even close.

Just like the Washington Cascades top the Oregon Cascades...

Subjective.

You think E. Washington is palatable?

Yeah, Western WA is generally prettier than Western OR, aside from the Pacific coastline where Oregon wins out. And OR wins out east of the Cascades.

Comparing places like this is dumb. So many factors and so many different types of environments. And not everyone likes the same kind of scenery.

Depends on where. If you are looking for forested mountain scenery, north central and northeastern Washington is very nice.

Agreed... We may be moving to Spokane in a few years. Some nice areas out that way...  Looking to move to South Hill which is a beautiful area.

Great summers, snowy winters -- It has 4 distinct seasons. Perrrrrfect!  :)

Yeah I love Spokane actually.

And western Oregon is nice aside from the western suburbs of Portland like Hillsboro, Aloha and Salem is pretty nasty too.

12z is hott.

If it does happen it won't last forever, according to background checks.

Oregon State baseball team is wishing they ran background checks about right now.

Obviously it' subjective and general. When has that ever stopped you from having an opinion?

The WA Cascades have a higher number of large (8,000'+) and/or really dramatic peaks. I find them more interesting.

Western WA has a ton of waterways and the Olympic Peninsula, whereas the ugly Willamette Valley and comparatively dull Coast Range comprise a lot of Western OR.

The OR coastline has many, many more miles of beaches and dramatic scenery and topography than the WA coastline.

And Eastern OR is generally a lot more forested and rugged topographically than Eastern WA. I guess if you really like wheat or the aesthetic of the Lower Columbia Basin, then you probably would prefer Eastern WA

On the whole I find it to be pretty balanced. They're both gorgeous states.

To me the Willamette Valley is much prettier once you get south of Salem.

There is nothing more beautiful than the scenery in BC. There, I said it. Case closed. Now about Tim... :D

I don't like to leave Trumpland now. :)

Sure, it's your opinion. Present it as such then, don't state it like it's fact.

And all this assessment really tells me is that you haven't traveled around the region very extensively, and have a very basic impression of the different parts of the state. The Siskiyou mountains in SW Oregon, for instance, are a completely different type of area than the "boring" western Oregon Coast range. The Rogue and Illinois River canyons are incredibly scenic. Also, as for your coastal ruggedness comparison, the Olympic coast says hi. Then you have numerous mountain ranges in the northern tier of Eastern washington that are high, rugged and pretty far from wheat fields. Even the channeled scablands have a very unique beauty.

Like you said, both gorgeous states. I guess we can agree there. ;)

Decent ensemble support for a big warm up next week. The 12z GFS was a warm outlier, though.

Regardless, looks like Phil could have some pretty major egg of his face with his cool June prediction.

Looks like the worst of the heat could be right over you!
