Snow pack in Oregon was great two weeks ago, but has dropped a lot since then. Still above average in most basins. Well above average east of the Cascades which is always good.

Mountain snow has been pretty dismal on Vancouver Island so far this season. Just a 24” base at Mount Washington resort.  Snow looks muddy up there.

2 feet is pretty crappy.   Summit at Snoqualmie has a base of 50-80 inches at a lower elevation than Mt. Washington and farther south.

Looks like the Cascades up here are doing good... better than the Olympics.

Timberline Lodge has a 60" base right now, and 177" since Sept 1st. Looks like a good mountain snow pattern coming up

18z ECMWF shows the max gust being 51 for the Central Puget Sound tomorrow evening.  I can live with that.

I thought the East slopes of the Cascades would be better than that.  Must be the low places like Wenatchee and Omak that gave me that idea.

Love watching the wind and waves from the Westport cam!  Looking wet, but the waves are really crashing into the breakers.  Big wind event coming within 12hrs for much of the coast!

The road in that bottom photo goes to some cabins you can stay at……glad I didn’t stay there as it turned into an ocean and they shut it down on my visit.

This shows the strongest winds in NW OR, but places more inland are strongest at different times.

Looks a little on the chilly side after the low passes.  ECMWF is going for afternoon temps in the low 40s Wednesday and Thursday.

We have had a pretty high qpf ratio, so most of the snow has been very lightweight.  And thats thanks to much colder weather.

Perfect snow IMO.  Easy to shovel or use a snowblower on.  Therefore the water content is much lower than what you would think based on what you see on the ground.

Now with the freezing rain we've had, it's much more difficult to move the snow.

The NWS is actually reasonably chilly for the rest of the week.  Even going for some possible highs in the upper 30s for the EPSL on a couple of days.

One year ago RIGHT NOW it was not snowing at my house.

It had slowed down at my house as well. My snow mounds were bigger than my present ones as well. What a day that was!!

Was gonna post these. I'm gonna say our next snow chance hits last week of January but may delay to Superbowl Sunday because it's a fucin tradition at this point.

I’m thinking things will speed up a bit, I’m thinking January 18th or so is when epic will begin!
