28F with one and a half feet of snow on the ground here at my grandparents in Post Falls, ID. A postcard white Christmas. One day we'll do that whole charade in Seattle and it will be glorious

A white Christmas here as well... about 5 inches of snow still on the ground but 41 degrees with rain showers so definitely not postcard worthy.    We somehow avoid the south wind here yesterday evening which would have led to much faster melting.   Snow melts quite slowly when its calm and in the low 40s as opposed to when its windy... particularly when its capped with a layer of ice.

We’ve had quite the stretch in recent years. Feels like something has changed in our climate. December’s have been good.

2021 still my favorite. We had close to 20 inches over a period of multiple snowfalls having started to snow on Christmas Day.

Nothing has changed, it's called natural variability.

I've gotten doubt from some mets and a PDX meteorologist when I shared this with them... they don't believe it is snowing, but your ring cam seems convincing. Are you sure it's snowing and not just some snow blowing off of a roof or something?

I'm about as certain as one can be for not physically being there.  Given that it was actively melting/dripping earlier, the odds of anything still being light and fluffy enough to be blown around are pretty D**n small I'd imagine? So weird...

Nope.  It was minutes old when I posted it

I cannot imagine it was snowing given how insanely warm the upper levels are and how shallow the cold layer is. The cold layer can’t be more than a few hundred feet thick and the you have to go up 8-9,000’ to hit the freezing level.
