Temp dropped from 19 down to 16 and snowing at a pretty good clip now.  The previously bare pavement (from shoveling) is now completely covered.  It quit screwing around and got down to business about an hour ago

North Umpqua Basin still below freezing too. This will take longer than modeled for all of us.

Was outside sledding and it started raining… Currently 23 degrees. I have a feeling this could be a historic ice event the fact this started as rain at my location.

Some updates on power outages.  Roughly 852 outages in Grays Harbor County.  Around 15 people in Clallam County in a remote area around Ozette Lake or Oil City.  An area that is open to strong Pacific Ocean winds right now. No outages in Jefferson County or Mason County.  That sums up the Olympic Peninsula environs.

Puget Sound Energy is at 6,300 people without power.  All to the east and in the mountains.

Snohomish County PUD is reporting 2,600 people without power.  The same as an hour ago.

Pierce County and Thurston County are both at 15 without power.

No power outages in Skagit and Whatcom County which is rather surprising.  San Juan County has 644 without power.

Clark County has 500 without power while Cowlitz has zero without power.  Lewis County has nearly 1,500 without power.

Eastern Washington is seeing minor outages in Yakima and Stevens Counties.

SEA officially 26/18. Too bad we couldn’t hold onto the really cold air a bit longer.

Went from nothing to freezing rain here, no snow, sleet, or anything. Wild. Time to power down and unplug the Xbox again lol.

It’s just so unthinkable for me to have it RAIN at 23 degrees in our area. I never got to track and model ride in 2012 so I dunno how the temps were back then.

It stopped snowing about 2 minutes ago, but we got a very nice new layer of clean white snow over everything including the roads.  I can't tell how deep though.  Within the past ten minutes, it's become quite gusty and you can see fresh powdered snow blowing around and swirling.

It's hard to say exactly how thick the ice is, but the coverage is total. The ground is ice everywhere. No worries about getting muddy. The gravel is all fused together. Haven't heard a car for over an hour. Oddly quiet which is kind of nice.

No meth heads out in this either.

Snohomish County PUD is fixing outages.  A large chunk in the notoriously outage prone Lynnwood area has been put back online. Some outages east in Snohomish have been repaired as well as a few in Arlington.  Gold Bar, Sultan, and Index remain the same with the number of outages. The total number of outages has dropped by a little over 100.

Can confirm an earlier post I made tonight, San Juan County is completely without power.  The entire county made up of islands is black.  All 15,000 plus residents have no power on any of the islands.  The power authority there says it isn't a power issue on the islands, but an issue with the power supply coming from Puget Sound Energy.

This is a pretty horrifying thing to be stranded on the islands with no power anywhere.  It is 26F at Friday Harbor and 26F at Lopez Village.  Eastsound is at 21F.

Okay, last radar map gifs from me tonight.  I'm going to sleep.  Have a great night all.

There appears to be a dry zone from Everett to Seattle and it aims diagonally through the Puget Sound currently.

The majority of Washington's Inland Empire is being snowed on.  It's getting closer to Spokane minute by minute. Temperatures are mostly in the single digits are below zero.

A complete winter mix and mess throughout PDX.  Temperatures have remained cold in the region.

Snowed hard for 1 hr coated everything and now have freezing rain for the last hr. I can't believe how fast the ice is covering stuff. Already ice cycles starting to form on the tree branches! This is the first time I have ever had freezing rain. Snow and sleet is mixing back in, temp was 22 jumped up to 24 and now it's 23.1. No wind dead calm and I'm extremely worried because as  you guys know this area is very hard to scour out the cold air and is very protected from a sw wind. My main concern is not mixing out before the real heavy precip gets here tomorrow.
