WeatherArchive
How much snow did you get that winter as a lot of places it was marginal yet so close to being a historic pattern. The foothills got buried with several feet that winter where it seemed to never stop. I recall the snow levels literally being STUCK at 500 feet in Oregon and I have never seen such a consistent snow line. It's almost like one of those jokes where if your house geography was sloped your driveway would have nothing but your roof and treetops would get plastered. Was it because it wasn't quite a La Nina? Would that have made a difference in shift and are we looking at something similar or do you think it was something else. What were the indexes that winter? For this winter do you think the snow will be more widespread this winter when it does happen where lots of places get fairly equal amounts? Deweydog
2007-08 was a decent nina. SilverFallsAndrew
You're asking an unanswerable question. 2007-08 didn't happen in the 1950's. It happened in 2007-08. I would say the results would have probably been about the same, maybe 1-2 minor snow events at PDX. But really who knows, in a different climate state maybe the ridging in the GOA is more amplified, maybe 2007-08 does not happen in the 50s because the state of the climate wouldn't allow it. What if 2007-08 was the 1949-50 of our time.
