Ended up with a 44/30 day yesterday. Some morning snow at times that didn’t really amount to anything but looked pretty, then we switched to south winds early afternoon.

Mostly cloudy and 39 currently after a low of 36.

Euro is much warmer for Sunday compared to the other models.

This cold wave is looking about as solid as it possibly could at this time frame.  The big 3 have almost the exact same pattern evolution over the next 10 days.  As always lowland snow placement will be the big question mark.

I think much is quite an overstatement.  At least up this way.  The general pattern and 850s are still very cold.

Both the GFS and GEM have sub freezing highs well down the willamette valley Sunday, whereas the EURO has highs in the low 40s, upper 30s at PDX, mid 30s puget sound… Just a timing thing, but what I said was accurate.

ECMWF is cold but completely screws western WA for snow... it rains on Friday and Saturday and then dries out as the cold air moves in.

Wonder if PDX will be able to pull off sub-50 highs the rest of the month. I think Wednesday/Thursday will be the closest calls. Regardless 54 should remain their top end, which would be their coolest January max since 2017.

I could see it working well if they built some sort of frame for the structure in advance. Hopefully whoever planned it did their architecture homework. Really cool otherwise.

I think we had some wet snow in the air with the Arctic front on 2/4, stayed below freezing on 2/5 with sunshine and then the three snowstorms from 2/6 to 2/8 were overrunning events.
