No it didn’t. Maybe around day 7ish….. it was mostly just the GFS going crazy with snow of course

Yeah. I definitely wouldn’t call this an epic rug pull. It just gradually slipped out from under us and was never too big to begin with. A throw rug at best.

12z EPS. It’s still a decent cold shot. Might score a sub-40 high or two. A lot of this stuff is about context, perspective and expectations. I try to imagine if the models had been showing a run of the mill clipper-like system this weekend and suddenly trended toward something more robust like this. We would all be feeling pretty good.

I know the southern areas got screwed... but January 2020 was WAY snowier in my area and from Seattle northward.    Much more memorable than this month.   And pretty recent.

We got 10” of snow, but it wasn’t memorable. That month blew. February and March 2020 were great here though.

I am sure Randy will agree... it was much more memorable up here.

I also remember a beautiful 60+ degree weekend in March after lockdown when everyone was freaked out people going outside in the nice weather.   Nice weather and being outside in the open air was of course extremely dangerous back then.    That is when people were calling the police out here if there was a car parked at trailhead.   😀

I remember that weekend vividly. Summit has shut down their operations, but I and my roommate went up to ski tour there. Beautiful weather and spring skiing were had. Little did we know that was about the last thing we were going to do for the next few months.

We had several snow events in February and March that year, and some nice sunny days you would like.

We had 28” in January 2020.  15” last January.  This month will be the epitome of boring.  Literally nothing memorable.

It was one of only a few times I had a depth over 1 foot (happens more often in Bend, but not where I lived).

Most of that winter's snow fell in about 8 days. So it could have been better.

Decent weeklies. Bad weeklies could have put an end to Winter.

Even the ensembles become pretty useless outside of 2 weeks. And the weeklies aren’t any different.  They usually just end up being a muted signal of climo for whatever Enso is doing at the time.

Yeah... Jared saying this event is such a milestone compared to recent January rings hallow for those living north and east of Seattle.   We have done way better just this decade.

Basically no snow here this month other than a little sloppy wet snow that melted immediately.

I think it was actually snowing here right now in 2021. We had about 4” on Jan 26/27th that year.
