My bird feeder has been nearly abandoned for the last several weeks…Think I even saw a tumbleweed blow by it at one point…But today the birds have come back with a vengeance…It’s coming.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

12z EPS looking pretty good in the long range. I like that the Euro has trended toward that brush with cold air to the east early next week (around the 23rd) Could help seed some decent cold inversions as the ridge moves overhead.

Just got back to work from lunch…Tim’s song that he will have on repeat (much to his family’s dismay) in his rented convertible while in Hawaii just came on my Pandora…It’s absolutely coming, things are lining up perfectly!

Today's front almost has the feel of poor man's Anafront.  Looks like the precip is hung up with the front while the mid and lower levels drop.  I wouldn't be surprised if I get a quick inch this late afternoon/early evening.

I was just thinking the same about it. Some anafrontal qualities.

I wonder how the frosted flakes tiger did with all that snow in Denver. Can't remember his user name though. Looks like they've had a good day.

Why? Because it’s been so warm? To me this has been a continuation of our weather purgatory. December was cold but not cold enough to be that interesting. January has been consistently wet and warm, but not very interesting or wet either. Kind of shhitsville.

Partly because its been warm... and also because it just seems right to have rainy periods in the winter.    Its been a pleasant way to get rain as well with lots of breaks and a decent amount of sun even though its has rained at least a little almost every day since Christmas.   We did the hot/dry thing and then the cold/dry thing so this has been a nice change.

I also like seeing the grass turning greener and some other signs of life in the middle of winter.   Even if it gets snowy and cold again we now have a jump start on spring.

And its been easy... no travel issues and no school delays.   Just quiet.
