It explains why he went back to the scene later. Probably realized he had dropped it and tried to find it somewhere. But they have to have something bigger we don’t know about yet that connected him to the case

We haven't heard anything on motive yet. But there have been hints that he had some sort of connection to one of the victims, and had visited the house more than a few times prior.

That's the part of the affidavit I found most interesting. Huge change from the information available previously, which was that the other 2 roommates were both on the bottom floor and slept through the whole thing.

Instead, we find out 1 of them was on the second floor where two of the victims were killed, heard some of it going on, and then actually saw the killer walk past them. But then no one called the police until after 11 am the next day? Very strange.

Again... consider that person's perspective at 4 a.m. that morning.   She never imagined her roommates were being killed.  This was a party house.  She might have thought it was one of her roommates hooking up and the guy looked really creepy so better lock her door.   She didn't know a mass murder had just been committed.   Its only in hindsight that it becomes so sinister and evil.

He is not very clever when he leaves his apartment at 2:30 a.m. and takes his phone with him (and is seen on multiple WSU traffic cameras at that time)... and then turns his phone off for 2 hours covering the time of the murders... and then turns it back on for some reason as he makes a ridiculous trip down through Lewiston and back up to Pullman between 4:30-5:30 a.m.

A PhD student in criminology should know to leave his phone at home and turned on so it appears like he never left.   🙄

Wondering if that was where he disposed of the weapon and/or clothing he might have had on.

True. I'm sure they misled the public with their statements about the other roommates "sleeping through" the whole thing so the guy would think there was no witness.

So…. I figure I’ll just come clean. All the “January” posts over the last 11 months or so were actually a reference to the forum’s big switch to becoming the PNW affiliate for Court TV.

About the only thing January is good for anymore.

and at the least do that with your phone and get a burner if you'd absolutely need a phone, but who would even need a phone after that type of crime unless it was to tell someone else "it's done" which indeed is not what was happening.

Yep…here in the south sound that and the storm on 12/20/18 were the biggest blows in recent years. The 1/6/19 storm was more focused on the south sound while the storm on 12/20/18 was more across western WA and SW BC.

Yeah we got nuked up here on 12/20/18 but wasn’t much of anything on 1/6/19. Did have a little snow the next day however!

We had some wet non-accumulating snowfall for several hours that night here as well. Just a little too warm to stick.

Some people are crazy, i just had a customer get mad at me because i wouldn't lie to her insurance company so she could get free repairs done. She put her jeep in the ditch and wanted me to inspect it, no problem from the ditch but we noticed some leaks here and there, just basic problems. I told her they had nothing to do with the ditch and she was trying to get me to lie to all state. I told here she had the wrong shop and we absolutely do not do business like that. She told me she would be contacting a lawyer because we are not conducting business properly. Get this, i did not even charge her lol. WTF

The thing that sucks is people like this can get on google and leave a bad review when in fact we did nothing wrong. We have over 100 5 star reviews out of 109 total so it is important to me.

Man i tell you they are, we have been here since 1989 and i am friends with a bunch of business owners, the problem is everyplace. People have changed since covid and that is a fact. They have no patience, we have people drop off stuff and call 6 times a day after they tell us there is no hurry. it makes me want to throw in the towel because it just adds a bunch of stress to a already very hard profession.

We just had some reps from the Snohomish Co Sheriff’s department come to our last safety meeting at work to help give our front end staff more tools to deal with angry/disgruntled/threatening/drunk/high people that come through the doors as there has been a definite increase of that over the last year. Also we have noticed more people with zero patience, and a huge sense of entitlement. It’s crazy.

Hmmm you seemed pretty impatient/entitled about the snow last month 😜

It is a real thing though. Glad I finally got into a real career and not in retail anymore. I was verbally abused at my job multiple times a week. Now I just treat water at jobsites and barely interact with anyone.

Haha my thoughts exactly. I follow the two main subs for that.

Unrelated note I did have to scrape the windows and defrost the car at 8am when it was 35F but that's about the only interesting bit of weather in these parts. CA still has the firehose.
