Some pretty stout wind gusts currently! Much higher and I’m sure our power will start having issues. 
And yeah…Yikes. Going to keep it weather related after this post but what the hell went wrong in this guys head to perform that horrific act.

All of western OR had more than a trace of snow in December 2021. Molalla I think did well, being close to the foothills with the onshore flow.

And all of Clackamas County had measurable snow multiple times in 2017-18 and 2018-19.

I would imagine Molalla also saw at least some measurable snow in March 2020 and April 2022.

Looks like they had around 3" in February 2018 from Mark Nelsen's blog posts. I'd think they got snow on 2/4/2019 as well. December 2021 I think they had a decent amount as well

I honestly never expect anything from January anymore…so the fact that it’s turning out to be a dud (so far) doesn’t bother me much. I feel like this would be a lot more painful if we hadn’t scored a couple times already this winter. In my lifetime with a couple of exceptions this month has been terrible and expectations are always low.

I am legitimately PO'd right now.  In case nobody can tell.

This pattern brings back nightmares of our very worst El Nino winters.  Simply disgusting.  I will say this makes a huge flip seem kind of likely though.

Ya know, its funny.....I have always been a strong supporter of the death penalty, and at first I wanted my nephew's killer to get the needle....well I really wanted him to get the chair but they don't do that any more.

Growing up in Georgia, for several years I lived about 20 minutes from the prison where the had 'ole Sparky (Jackson Georgia), and being sick little redneck kids we would make jokes about the lights dimming when they would do executions.

 

But then I got to thinking, that's the easy way out for him.  I want him to rot in prison the rest of his life, be another prisoner's b*tch (he was already very unpopular in county lockup and got roughed up several times).  To be perfectly honest, I surprised myself with that change in mindset.

That said, I have no objection to the death penalty, and if that was the sentence given to him, I would not have objected one bit.

I would have probably tried to be there to witness it...look that motherf*cker in the eyes before he left this world.  I was not allowed to go to any of the court sessions, my wife knew I would be on the news, flying across the courtroom trying to get my hands on that POS before the bailiffs tazed me.

As I said this pattern this pattern is just flat out awful though.  Big difference between a dud and a total train wreck.

Looks like that event on the 27th-28th might've brought a decent amount to that area. Snow-holed us though, that was annoying. Least amount on that entire map north of Salem. Maybe it was just bad luck or us being in heart of the Coast Range rainshadow

Thanks, but going to where there is snow just makes it worse in some ways.  Just too many years of going through the ups and downs (too many down) of this climate.

Yeah, I remember reading that his car miraculously stalled and the dad of the kid he was trying to abduct caught up with him. Crazy sh*t.

Quite frankly it just stumps me how the pattern could be so full blown Nino when we have sky high SOI and a very robust Nina going right now.  If I were living in the NE I would be pretty pissed that such a Ninoesque pattern is torching that area as well.

It must have something to do with fallout from that hyper blocking pattern we had recently.

Once we kept the cold well into December this was basically a done deal.

Yeah, it was basically in front of the movie theater in Camas. He worked there in high school and he and the stepdad scrapped with him for a bit before LE got there.

Seriously though, December did us no favors. It was pretty clear by mid month that we had some westerly comeuppance heading our way.
