That was a fun event. I think some spots in the Pasco basin reached above 115.

If I had the power I’d ban you for this.

110 to 115 is common around the world. It's just a question of knowing how to handle it. Need to be ready with AC, and irrigation for plantings.

The good news with this torch is the mountains have managed to stay snowy with the offshore flow. Hasn’t been any significant melting at the ski areas in a very long time.

Thanks, but going to where there is snow just makes it worse in some ways.  Just too many years of going through the ups and downs (too many down) of this climate.

This doesn't make sense.   You said earlier that you just "need" the feel of contential cold air.   Obviously Covington WA is not going to provide that fix for you all winter but you can easily travel over the mountains.  Similar to how traveling to warm/sunny places breaks up winter for other people when it's obviously not going to be like that around here in the winter.

Well they have his DNA on a knife sheath inside the bedroom of one of the murder victims.  And video of his car leaving Pullman just before 3:00 a.m. and entering and exiting the neighborhood where the murders occurred between 4:00 a.m. and 4:25 a.m.    Not sure how any of that is explained by an innocent person.   Probably him?

Many people still think it was other college students after today?    I guess many people don't believe we landed on the moon either.   Whatever.

Downtown Seattle recorded 60.9" of snow in 1915-16, compared to 36.2" in 1968-69 and 33.9" in 1949-50. The snowstorm on February 1-2, 1916 is definitely the biggest one post-1880 for the Puget Sound.

Shawnigan Lake had a staggering 135” between Jan 1st and Feb 9th in 1916.  I can’t imagine how high the snow banks would be if that occurred today.

Technically, they have DNA that matches "somewhat" genealogically, and video of a car "like" his.  Personally though I think they got the right individual, he studied for this moment and still failed to get away with it.

Currently, 45 degrees and sporadic rain showers here.

Dropping a knife sheath is pretty amateur. Maybe that’s why he allegedly went back the next day to try and recover it. The whole thing is pretty weird. Will be interesting to find out how they arrived at him as a suspect in the first place, because it was before DNA evidence was in. Leaving a knife sheath at the scene, and being able to be placed there via cell phone data are pretty basic mistakes if this guy was trying to pull off the perfect crime, so perhaps he had other motivations we are not yet aware of.

Somewhat?

99.9998% likelihood of a match.

And couple that with his very strange road trip (per cell phone data) between 2:30 - 5:30 a.m. on the morning of the murders which took him from Pullman to Moscow down to Lewiston and then back up to Pullman from the south.   That seems like a suspiciously random trip at an extremely odd time of day for an innocent person who also happened to leave his DNA inside the bedroom of one of the murder victims during that time.   Investigators are really grasping at straws here to blame him for the murders.  🙄

I am guessing here... but I bet there is DNA from the murder victims on the items he removed from his car with surgical gloves and put into bags and put in the neighbors garbage bins in Pennsylvania just prior to his arrest.   Luckily the FBI retrieved those bags from the neighbors garbage bins.

It is pretty hard to believe anything the police say about DNA evidence though. The cell phone data is much more compelling imo.

Looks like a lot of upper 30s in the willamette valley this morning, sad statement about January that we would consider that a small win.
