Christmas Holiday Snow Event

Yo Jaster.....I am beating you in snow amounts so far this year. Whats up w that. SWMI not cooperating with ya ic. ;) :P

All the snow has come via north stream dominant cold flow pattern and SEMI does best when it's a very cold pattern. If we ever see some better stream phasing & stronger systems, SWMI will get better treatment. Besides, you're not beating me by that much, lol.

Right now, the two bottom corners of the LP have the hot hand..

Was gonna say, didn't know NE peeps were getting another storm today???

Had family Christmas dinner and when we sat down about 5 it started ripping and my wife said it's like a fairy tale scene! +SN at the house during the past 90 or so min's, even reporting Hvy snow per the airport ASOS. It's going to force another venture outside to measure and shovel. Snowiest Christmas 2-days since I moved out of NMI 20 yrs ago. Fantastic! Can't script this any better for these parts.

Euro via Kuchera called for 5.5 to 6" around here, and if I pick-up a few tenths overnight it will have nailed it.

5.3" so far, 2.8 via the system and 2.5 via LES

Nice job by the Euro. Others weren't bad tho!

'grats ovva there!

As expected, a late-game rally overnight til this morning netted another 1.3" bumping my total to 6.6"

Awesome Christmas gift by Ma Nature! It looks as white and fresh as I've ever seen it here in 9 yrs at my address! City finally plowed, but a coating fell since so everything's brightest of white like I remember in Traverse.

Saturday-Sunday 5-6 inches depending on location in the county. The different waves yesterday, last night, and this morning were over 3 inches measured in my yard ( obviously not official) and am waiting for NWS Hastings to put out numbers later.

Awesome!  BTW, glad to see you back my friend.

For the 17th time in history, Lincoln will have picked up 4 straight days of measurable snow. It snowed measurably on the 23rd, 24th, 25th, and 26th

I know all of Neb isn't buried by 2 ft of snow, but some out there were so quick to gripe @ Tom's positive outlooks and calling "winter cancel".

I'm still waiting to see anyone give him props..or at least admit they were a bit hasty

Tom is my boy, ill for sure give him cred. Never in a million years did i think clippers would be on the horizon for nebraska, but here we are! Only a couple inches on the ground, but i love every second of it :)

I'm not going to congratulate Tom for being correct, because he wasn't.  We have not been getting snow the way or at the time Tom said.  When someone throws up as many outlooks as Tom does, they're gunna be off the mark more often than on.  What I will commend is his passion for weather.  It comes through here.  It's good to see.  I just make sure to take long range forecasting with a huge grain of salt as it rarely verifies.  Tom's enthusiasm is good to have around here, but it's not like the pattern looked promising over the last couple months even after Tom would tell us it's going to change.  When you say people will get hit over and over for months eventually you will be correct.

Although I am having a laugh at Snowlover who claimed we would be seeing 40's at the end of December.  There is a middle ground which I inhabit, it's called reality.
