Realistic chance at our best January of the century. Not a super high standard, but still not gonna happen.

If you want to realize how terrible the last 55 Januaries have been overall...The record lows at Silverton from January 17-22 are all over 20 degrees. They started keeping records in 1962. 

 

What is even more sad...

 

January records lows:

 

1962-84: 28

1985-2017: 3 

 

And the three since 1984 were all super low hanging fruit records. Back to back 19's in 2007 and a 20 in 2008...And that is it...

I don't care about football, but this is a good thing. I still remember the year they had the parade downtown (because I work in Seattle), it was bone cold with no snow!! 

 

Ever since they went to the superbowl our winters have sucked. =)

Fairly sharp pressure rises occurring over southern BC now as well as the Columbia Basin, eastern Washington.

Probably little if any snowfall until we move into a warmer pattern. These Arctic blasts are squashing everything out into the Atlantic.

 

You guys have a much easier time getting moisture into play during cold Arctic airmasses than we do.
