snow_wizard
I thought it would be fun to do a topic to show things really haven't been going that badly for us since the mega torch of March 2014 - Nov 2016 ended. In spite of not scoring on some events that easily could have gone our way MBY still checked in with a respectable 13.4" in 2017. Hoping we can keep the ball rolling in 2018! Phil
You only average 20”. That’s pretty sad.Yep, and that “average” is inflated somewhat, thanks to the occasional blockbuster winters we get. Our median is probably closer to 15” since 1980. Though we’ve had some fantastic winters in more recent years. Almost 90” in 2009/10, around 55” in 2013/14, around 35” in 2014/15, and around 45” in 2015/16. We’ve had some awful ones too. Around 3” in 2011/12, maybe 4” in 2012/13, about 7” in 2007/08, approximately about 8” last winter, and so far, this winter also happens to be one of the worst in recent memory for snowfall. Just under 7” so far. WeatherArchive
Does a tiny bit of ZR count? Cause that's all we got which froze the car door shut during the Christmas eve event and another small event in early December though not from any rain but from the air itself freezing when we had the first of the colder weather. Longtimer Brian_in_Leavenworth Posted January 27, 2018 Longtimer Report Share Posted January 27, 2018 We are up to about 60 inches this winter. We may have a hard time getting to our annual average of 94 inches, but we had a slow start. It has not snowed as often this year as last year, but we have had more big snows than last year. Last winter we had mainly snows 4-6 inches or less with maybe 2 exception, but this winter we have already had 4 snows of 9 inches or more. Doinko
18" in the winter of 2016/17 Around 14.5" in 2017: ~0.5" Jan 1st ~0.5" Jan 7th 13" Jan 10th/11th ~0.5" Dec 24th? Not sure about this one really, mostly just estimating here. We might've had something in Feb/March as well but I don't remember really. I know this is an old thread but I thought it would be interesting to compare how much snow different areas had that year. My location is in the west metro of the Portland area (west slopes of the West Hills) at around 250ft above sea level.
