Do you have to make everything negative? A couple days ago this was supposed to be an ice/rain event. For God's sake dude.

Glad to hear the reports downstream. Enjoy it peeps!

Sitting right at 3” here in Southwest Omaha and still snowing... certainly a nice little overachiever last night and this morning... with the second wave due in later today.

Glad to hear you guys out west cashed in last night and from the looks of it on radar another batch of heavier snow has just pushed through OMA.  The last wave is making its way into the SE side of LNK and a beeline into OMA.  These returns remind me of the Sat snow event we had out here with intense bursts of snow.

d**n, there are some embedded 35dbz returns just south of LNK with temps in the low 20's.  This stuff must be insane!

Definitely an overachiever. Just measured 2.6" and we still have the afternoon wave left

It's a shame that most of the last band missed the airport. That'll make its measurement way lower.

Models are consistently showing enough ice in the second wave for a travel nightmare. Around 0.15" here. And no or very little snow.

Eyeballing it from my window, I’d say I have between 2-3” as well. Just missed this last heavy band as it went across central Omaha to my east by not more than a couple miles as I am just west of 680 and the snow was just inside the 680 loop. Still nice fluffy flakes coming down though

It's a shame I just barely slept thru it. I woke up just as the tail end was passing and flake size was smaller.

HRRR coming pretty dang close to ice storm warning criteria for LNK on the last run. What a nightmare this'll be on top of the snow we got last night.

I think they'll keep with the WWA. Looks like HRRR is an outlier atm.

Soundings still supporting snow here. Wondering if models may be warm biased in the atmosphere.

12z GFS giving LNK almost .5" of ice over next 48hrs?! Wow.

Yeah I think that's excessive.

It'd be a nightmare if it verified.

Last night's snow was almost exactly 20:1 ratio. That'll compact to where I can see the grass tomorrow!

I am quite confused. NWS point forecast now has a lower end of 3 inches; which is about what I was thinking. However, the upper end is 7?!? Seems a bit excesive and would like to know their thinking. Guessing the afd will be a bit late tonight too, due to the amount going on, so going to be stuck in a limbo for a bit here.

Dry air appears to be winning out today. Hopefully it fills in to our south but not looking so great right now. After last night’s surprise 3 inches of snow, I am okay with seeing no ice around here.

I'm with ya on that, if all we are going to get is frz rain/ice pellets I will pass.

Temp is hovering right around freezing now and melting is happening. Pretty fast too, I'd say 6 drips per second. Not what I like to see with the dry air coming in. At least with precip later, there would be a bit of a security blanket.

I'll give it until 3pm to fill in. Not exactly calling for a cancel tonight yet.

Just drove to downtown to drop off some papers and now I'm back home. Pretty big difference. In downtown, there can't be any more than 1.5" on the ground. I could still see blades of grass. I have nearly double that on the Southeast side.

HRRR is trending upward again. Too bad it isn't initializing well. Actually shows an additional 1-2" of snow for Lincoln.

Pretty misty here too. I'd say visibilities are down to about 3-4 miles at my place.

Temp has lowered to 30.2*F since my last post and melting hasn't stopped but it's now down to about 2-3 drips/second.

3km NAM actually initializes surprisingly well. Holds off appreciable precip till 5pm-ish. THAT I'll believe.

More precip coming. Crossing my fingers on it being snow and not dreaded ZR.

Came down for a good clip there for a sec. roads are fine though (too warm?)

I'm thinking it's brine they laid down from last night's snow making the roads wet and not icy.

Walked out on my sidewalk and I slid a good 3 feet. It's icy.
