Phil
I’m clearly paying off some karma. A tiny shower popped up right overhead and spiked the dewpoint to 82*F. Why? What did I do? Phil
Briefly spiked to 90/82, heat index 111. One of the nastiest June afternoons I can remember. If it were mid/late July or early August, this would be more typical, and more tolerable since we’d be more acclimated to humidity by then. This is like a kick to the nuts. Debilitating. Phil
Heavy downpours today. About 1.65” of rain in 30mins, some rumbles of thunder too but nothing remotely close to my area. High of 92*F this afternoon with a dewpoint of 78*F before the convection knocked us down to a much more tolerable 76/74 by evening. Andie
Feels like the washing machine is out of balance lately. Last night we had a front race across us. The storms fell apart, but we got one heck of a light show and thunder with high winds. This is the type of stuff that can spark off some very ugly wildfires. In this dry spell, were all on edge. That wind would drive a fire faster than responders can stamp it out. Phil
The last few days were lovely. Today less so. Yesterday evening was the nicest so far this summer with temps in the upper 70s and a dewpoint around 60*F. Overcast today, but the moisture pump is back on with gusty southerly winds and dewpoints in the mid-70s. Phil
Yesterday was likely our last day in the 80’s for quite a while. High was 88*F with a dewpoint around 70*F, so essentially an average day for late June. Today looks like low 90s, Saturday looks like mid 90s, and Sunday-Tuesday look like mid/upper 90s. Then we cool back to the low 90s thereafter, but it will probably be even more humid. No 80’s in sight, as of now. Phil
Was 91/77 and gross at 11AM, then a few downslope gusts mixed out the humidity a bit. Now 95/69.
