New runs of NAM 3KM and Nam show some kind of meso banding. It actually holds the storm together quite well. Looking at the satellite today, the storm has a beautiful circulation to it over the 4 corners.....Data up to this point blows it up to our west and then weakens quite a bit heading east. What if it were to stay stronger longer?? We'll see if the Oz data shows that tonight. It would be a no brainer if temps where in the 20's...BUT Good point, the storm looks healthy. NAM and HRRR will be the models to watch.

Grizzcoat
I think the southwerd push of dry area is being somewhat mitigated by low level moisture (FZFG etc) below say 900mb on the N end in IA. If the dendrites can make it through any dry air at say 800-850mb , totals may be slightly higher. 2 Quote The two loudest sounds known to man: a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and a gun that goes click when it is supposed to go bang. jaster220
DTX Pockets of mid level FGEN forcing will also bring areas of slightly better lift to parts of the region. While the best FGEN response looks to remain positioned well south of the region, notable FGEN may very well become established fairly close to the H7 surface as the best mid level vorticity maximum eject east through the area. This seems most likely along or south of the I-94 corridor given the overall southern bias to the main storm center now spinning through Oklahoma/Kansas. All in all, light snow should be fairly widespread during the day Sunday with amounts ranging from half an inch to about 2 inches from north to south across the area. At this time, the best chance for achieving 2 inches of accumulation looks to be limited to area from I-94 south where that period of better FGEN looks most likely for a portion of the "event".
