Snowing here again this morning. Temp of 32.

Yeah... some more snow falling here now as well.   I can also see blue sky so I don't think it will amount to much.

Have the slightest bit of accumulation on the grass, had to look hard out the window to see it. 34 degrees.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

My son was just back there again this past weekend for another tour of MSU and to meet up with various professors and directors.  Sounds like the weather was pretty nice when he got there, cold cloudy and windy Friday, then Saturday they moved over to the Flint Creek valley for his great grandmother's 97th birthday party, and the temp was down to 11. Then I think it warmed up to freezing on Sunday when he flew home....All I could say was....."that is but a small taste of what you will experience the next 4 years....."

Looks like he is all set to go there, this trip finalized his decision.  He will be back in late June for freshman orientation, and then we will move him out there in mid-August as an Environmental Engineering major/bass drummer in the marching band

Back to the topic of weather, I guess this winter has been a bad one on the family ranch, as they have lost a lot of calves.  My wife's uncle and cousin have been having to watch the herd pretty much around the clock and as soon as a calf is born, scoop it up and get it into a barn to keep it warm.  The ranch is not included in the pictures you attached, hopefully this means the storm is passing to the east of them....still sucks for the ranchers who will get hit, as they are all dealing with the same stuff my wife's family is....

Exciting that he has made his final decision, he's going to love it here! Bass drummer in the marching band should also be really fun! Hopefully you will be able to make plenty of trips out this way to experience the great seasons we have here. Some will joke that we only have two seasons here, winter and construction season but summer is really quite beautiful and fall, albeit short is stunning here.

We were down in Utah all last week where it was in the 60's. Drove back up to Bozeman on Saturday and it was in the 20's with some fresh snow on the ground. It's been a wild fall/winter and now spring out this way with all sorts of snow and cold records falling. Definitely feel for the ranchers out there. Woke up to a fresh 6" of snowfall this morning and it's still snowing and forecasted to continue throughout the day. Welcome to spring in Bozeman!

Snoqualmie Pass has been closed for hours for snow removal.

Snoqualmie Summit received 15 inches of snow at the base overnight.    A base of 219 inches now at Alpental.

Rivers are going to be roaring all summer up here.   Looks like the dead of winter up there.   Facebook just reminded me that two years ago today my son was skiing in shorts and a t-shirt up there in 70-degree sunshine and they were about to close for the season.

Nice. How much did you get?

Saw some flakes mixing in with the rain at the tail end of the CZ last night as it passed south but didn't amount to anything.

I will say the atmospheric river hitting northern and central California late this week looks pretty impressive. Hopefully it does a little more for their mountains than ours, since the Sierra are generally higher than the Cascades.

The pattern late this week looks like a punch to the gut for mountain snowpack. Would rather it just stay dry if the snow level is going to be 10,000.

Some of that may just soak in, plus it looks like more mountain snow afterwards.

Yeah, he is super excited, and we are excited for him, he told us last night that he does plan to come home the summer between his freshman and sophomore years but after that he plans to spend the remaining summers out there working in some capacity.  His goal is to work at Yellowstone, but if push comes to shove the he can work at the ranch.  They still have the bunkhouse from back in the day when they had several ranch hands, and it was recently renovated, so he could live there.  It will be interesting to see if he stays out there permanently.

I do expect to be making more trips out there, and if he ends up staying I might try to talk my wife into relocating (she's not a big fan of the cold dry air).  We've mainly gone in the winter (Christmas or Thanksgiving) and have experienced -18f, I've done few Thanksgiving cattle drives, one of which featured single digit temps and wind blowing 15-20.  So I've gotten a taste of the cold even if it was only for a week at a time.  Last year was our first trip back in the summer, the days were hot as hell but the nights were nice.  I look forward and checking out some of the other seasons.

Speaking of which, my mother in law would have to respectfully disagree with your assertion that there are 2 seasons...according to her facebook post this morning there are 11...

Going to college out of state was one of the best decisions I ever made. Helped me become much more responsible and learn to figure things out on my own.

It is snowing and 29 degrees at 2:45 p.m. on this April afternoon in Minneapolis.   That is crazy.

Good thing the Twins are on the road. I am trying to watch more baseball this year. But I hate the direction the game is going, so its tough. Hard to believe its possible, but baseball has become even more boring stylistically over the past 5-10 years.

Did you see the pics from Yankee Stadium today? Lol.

Can’t recall the last time a game was postponed due to heavy snow there.

Yankees and Red Sox should play the Cubs and Dodgers every season, IMO

About to get a lot better than that, they might not crack 20 on Friday. The cold air advection with that trough looks insane.

Truly amazing.   I can't remember anything even close to this in April there.

With lows in the single digits that night. That's is really crazy for April there.

Spring is going to be on pause for awhile in the Upper Midwest back to MT.

Tim only remembers anomalously warm weather from his childhood.

No... I remember most of the extreme cold and snowy periods.     I just don't think I can remember details all the way back to 1975.

January of 1982 was insane... over 40 inches of snow in 3 days followed by bitter cold.   December 1983 was also very memorable.   As was the Halloween blizzard of 1991 and cold and snow that followed in November.

**REPORTED CONDITIONS AND ANOMALIES ARE NOT MEANT TO IMPLY ANYTHING ON A REGIONAL LEVEL UNLESS SPECIFICALLY STATED**
