Aannnd the wind is back. Any idea when the last blizzard Warning was for the metro proper? If my memory serves me, it’s been quite some time.

The wind is back and now I’ve heard thunder several times. I’ll see if I can find the last time MSP had a blizzard warning. It’s been a long time. Was the metrodome buster a blizzard? I was living in Chicago at the time.

Flakes are falling again. Decent looking defo band is gonna sit over us for a bit. All it took was a bit of reverse psychology with negative posts on here. We're about to get the steadiest stream of moderate snow we've gotten all season. Main reason for that is because most of the heavier snow we've gotten this year has come in fast-moving squalls.

Flake size isn't bad either. This is the type of snow that will actually not have trouble accumulating. Wish it could just stall over us.

Snowfall in Lincoln, NE:

2017-18: 21.4"   2018-19: 55.5"   2019-20: 17.6"   2020-21: 49.4"   2021-22: 5.1" 🤮

Average: 26"

I'm on the Southeast side so all I have is flurries so far. Shows how slow this thing is moving. May as well be stalling.

I’m not sure. If I had to guess, i’d say yes. Very intense band moving through right now. Lightning, wind and the heaviest snow I’ve seen yet. Easily 2”/hr I’d estimate.

About 8” down now. 19z HRRR saying another 11” and still snowing after the run. Spring has officially been cancelled.

Flipped on TWC and it’s pure heaven on TV! Wow, this is a storm you guys will never forget.

I was just watching the local news. The local meteorologist was talking with the NWS to get an answer as to when the last time the entire metro area was included in a blizzard warning. Apparently even the NWS doesn't have a record of this. He said it MAY have been the Halloween blizzard of '91(!) but they aren't positive. The NWS is going through records to try and find out a definitive answer. WOW!

Have to eat my "nothing burger" comment from yesterday. Under a WWA overnight. Winter headline in mid-April is not easily acheived, especially with my office's bias

Estimating 12” down, still ripping good. HRRR with another 6” or so.

SWEET! Congrats up there!

I've picked up 0.31" of rain so far, all from light rain showers.  There have been no downpours and no thunder.  Overall, except for the strong wind, this has been rather underwhelming here.

season snowfall: 34.8"

'22-23: 30.2"      '21-22: 27.1"      '20-21: 52.5"      '19-20: 36.2"      '18-19: 50.2"      '17-18: 39.5"

Average snowfall: ~30"

At WMIJim

I see Saginaw Bay is ugraded to a Storm Warning now. And, it's not often we see almost the entirety of both penninsula's under WSWarnings at once! Oh what may have been if this had hit during winter?
