Could a realistic climate biome happen in a simulator title or even video game?

Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild has a pretty advance climate biome system. Game Theorist explains it quite well and no cussing.

now I wonder is it possible to take it a step further and actually have an inter linked climate system where you have conflicting air masses and prevailing wind direction playing an important role? The problem is the weather isn't balanced so like getting anywhere NEAR Zora's Domain early game you are stuck with constant rain and can't climb.  In fact anywhere in the game it rains you can't climb even with climbing gear but you notice it right away there as that's where most players go first.

Wind Waker didn't have a climate system per say but had prevailing winds as a theme where you used the wind baton your very first song you call the wind and change it to suit your needs and some storms occurred including fighting a giant cyclone god and then being able to use his powers to "warp" to other cyclones. If your not fast enough in fighting him you will get plucked to a random part of the world.

Microsoft Flight Sim back to Century of Flight series (Maybe earlier but I don't know) has a "world weather" system but fetches it from official data sources and this was  back in the XP era but they took it away with their arcade title simply called Microsoft Flight which as predicted by hard core players didn't work out so planned expansions failed.

Now imagine if games could interlink climates and have different events/fights,exploration attribute to it.  What are your takes?  What kind of weather system would you like to see in a game or sim?   How realistic is weather in modern racing sims like Project Cars or Grand Turismo?
