PNW February 2023 Weather Discussion - Meteorological winter finale

That's a great setup, very cold airmass, steady precip. Only issue for folks south of you is there would probably be a pretty decent south wind with that.

I wouldn't write it off just yet. there is a south wind but the gradient is very anemic at least on the GEM and ECMWF. The cold and dry air at the surface just might be able to hold on long enough to keep that entire band as snow.

I understand the skepticism though, high bust potential in the low lands.

Suncadia should see some good snow Saturday night. I'll be in the Burg.

I hope you're right! What makes you think so? All models (except the GFS) seem to show the precip ending there right about now, with only a trace or so this weekend.

Probable between sea level and 1500ft depending on location and distance from the coast or puget sound.

Tim says mid 40s. Not sure why we even track this stuff.

The system coming in late Saturday into Sunday morning should bring a few inches to the Cle Elum area. I'm sure a Winter Weather Advisory or Winter Storm Watch will be posted for the mountains in the coming days.

I ran out from work really quick to set up my board as we're rapidly getting accumulation. Looks like 80 percent snow at least maybe twemty percent graupel so I wanted to record it.

Someone said graupel can count as snow? Either way it's mostly snow.

Great convective views after the hail storms passed over me earlier today. Hoping we'll see some more tonight!
