None of the models that I saw last night showed anything other than possibly the lightest dusting. Insane!!! Also it’s 27.9 degrees.

I was wondering how it looks like you have so much more than anywhere else when it’s pretty much been snowing for the same amount of time and then I saw your temperature! Still 32 at home and mostly just a dusting.

Yeah... I went back and checked the ECMWF last night and it showed only a dusting up there.

Although a couple days ago I posted a ECMWF precip map showing a solid band of precip moving westward into the Sound from Seattle northward and said we will be watching this on the radar on Wednesday morning.    I think the models might have assumed it was just slightly too warm still at this time.   But a couple degrees makes a big difference!

Sitting at the cutoff line is quite interesting… with decent flakes blowing in from the north but breakage in the clouds straight overhead (some blue skies) with sun. 🤔

Don’t know exactly where you are but it is dumping snow a few miles north of you up Rainier towards Seattle

I had .90 but measuring required a few reads as there was some very minor driftingand a layer of ice under the board. But I averaged it out to .80 from last night and .10 for yesterday so .90 total.

I’m wondering if it was because we got a half inch of hail last evening and then we dropped to the 31 degree range for most of the night/early morning so every single flake stuck, no meltage at all. Also I am at 580’ so perhaps elevation has something to do with it?

I just measured and I have 2.75” of snow. Temp down to 27.6.

Snow is slowing now.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

-8F at Williams lake, 16F in Lytton, 23F in hope, 28F in Bellingham. High temp is projected at 41 in Tacoma. 33 now which is the low for the day. 41 seems a little high would be surprised if we hit 40.

Temp continues to drop. Was 31 when I let the dogs out at 4:30am, now it’s 27!

Looks like the models are finally realizing that when you have a 998mb low spinning around Astoria the Puget sound gets snow. This has been bugging the last few days. Looks like a good chance that low spins some moisture up here tonight but it might come from up over the cascades and down over us so the radar might just light up quick at times.

We come from the land of the ice and snow.

Heaviest snow I saw was right in downtown Seattle. Really choose the absolute wrong day to leave my computer at work or I would’ve worked from home today…

Less snow in south Seattle (Rainier Valley).
