KPTV says all of the Metro should see 2-6"

Lots of snowy roads east/north metro at 2pm. A snowstorm has begun in those areas. Cold air slower to arrive west/south metro, but eventually all parts of the area should pick up somewhere between 2-6" snowfall. Snow showers will come and go the next 18 hours, but eventually everyone west of the Cascades gets as least SOME snow. Our wetter (snowier) models were correct.

Snowing hard here in Sandy and sticking. I don't get how the models show no snow here tomorrow. I have lived east of Portland for 35+ years and I can only remember one time when we didn't get snow and it went west and south. That was a weak storm, this storm isn't weak. I just don't understand it. I guess we will find out.

Wow the radar is looking impressive for the sound this evening.

Hoping some of it can make it to north king county but I’m not really expecting it right now.

Walked out of work after I got off and not a sign of any snow from this morning leftover! Surprising to see that it all melted. Need 3.5 more inches to prevent this winter from being my worst since 2017-18, not too hopeful but that’s what I get for moving somewhere without an elevation advantage

Well this winter is now at A- status with the nearly 3” unforecasted stunt that Mother Nature pulled this morning! My truck covered in snow under the carport equals a north wind! Love that sight!

I have had a total of 1.5" of snow since December 20th.  This morning Lake Stevens, Everett and your area north of Arington received 3" plus while I had less than half an inch.   I think Jesse has cursed my property.  Grade so far here a generous C

NWS going with 22 tonight and 21 tomorrow night for KSEA. Both would be record lows for the dates.

At Sea-Tac, the record low for 2/23 is 23 set in 2022 but if the forecast verifies it will be 22 set in 2023. Conspiracy?

Probably going to be too much cloudcover (and hopefully a little snow) to get that cold tonight there IMO.

Everett Snowfall (510 feet elevation)

Snow since February 2019: 91"

2023-24: 6"

2022-23: 17.5"

2020-21: 14.5”

2019-20: 10.5"

2018-19: 24.75"

The 3" I heard about must be closer to Paine field I guess.  There was 3" near Frontier Village for sure.

I live less than 2 miles from Paine Field and got 0.5”. Got pretty unlucky with the showers though here.

The forecast shows it staying breezy and mostly cloudy overnight so I think a lot of that cooling is just cold air advection, but we'll see.

I have to imagine some of the dynamics later on favor Washington County and west metro. But at the very least atm our dumb official station finally gets a chance at some glory 😮💨
