Looks like a March 2012 pattern at first glance.

I’m hopeful there will be more blocking to neuter any attempt at a plains ridge. If not, then I’ll have to stock up on booze.

Would add insult to injury if we wasted our final weeks before swamp season on a blowtorch. Because the next 5 months are guaranteed to be hot/muggy.

The SSW and associated MC acceleration has fully mobilized the MJO. Big WWB projected by the EPS.

Of course this will be followed by a trade burst, but this should be enough to trigger a downwelling OKW and quickly terminate the La Niña.

I was in the verge of bumping my winter grade up to a D-, but the temp got up to 36 and over half our snow is gone and it is drippy out there.  Still an F.

Definitely an A here. 3 separate snowfalls and a sub freezing high is pretty top notch for here.

Solid B+ here but if it's anywhere near as snowy as the models allege it will soon be it will move into A+ territory easily.

I just cannot get that horrorfest that was the timeframe between the the end of December and the end of January out of my mind…Otherwise I would also Grade an A or A+

For now I am sticking with an A-

In order to get an A from me a winter has to have a low in the single digits Fahrenheit or a storm total snowfall of 12" or more, and this winter has fallen just short on both marks. But I will give extra credit for any winter that has 30" or more of total snowfall, and that would get this one to an A+ if such credit is earned.

This winter is tough to grade. My deepest snow depth is 4in but that was a run over event that turned to rain and washed away my snow. However, I have a szn total of 15.5in also…..  However 80% of that was .2in snow events that added up.

A very weird winter tbh

I'd probably give it a B+ or A-. Not a crazy amount of snow but we had the chilly November, some snow in early December, the arctic blast in late December and ice storm. Late January we had that small cold wave, some snow in mid February and then of course this amazing blizzard and (most likely) a subfreezing high in late Feb.
