Raging southerly winds but down to 36 here now with a lot of small flakes flying. It’s pretty bizzare that we may end up with an inch of snow by tomorrow morning but it’s playing out pretty close to what the models showed…just an hour delayed is all.

36/25 with a light east wind at PDX. Seems like a good recipe. Also remember much colder air aloft is sweeping in very quickly with this front.

I'm thankful it's only easterly seepage here.  I think that might help this area.

Looks like the SW wind holds off in our area until about 3 or 4 a.m.

What are the temps supposed to be doing tonight.  Been sitting at 33, and it has been dumping but not really accumulating beyond what I posted earlier….very wet and drippy….

Precip shield is just about here. I’ll be pretty interested to see how it starts. It’s 34 with a DP of 26 and a light east breeze. Those seem like good snow numbers.

31.5F DP 27.9F here. Can confirm it is all light fluffy snow. No sleet, rain or anything else weird.

I'm thinking this should be a fun little event.

Up to 42 and rain currently. Dew point is at 27 which is my saving grace. Might make a run at 45  degrees this hour.  The swamp is tough to overcome😂😂

Keeping that up at the low levels could be a big benefit for snow potential. A lot of places won't see 925mb temperatures rise above freezing as the front becomes occluded. Per the WRF, the cold tail reaches the coast in a couple hours.

I can't remember a snow situation like this one... no idea how it will work out.     But it's certainly not the last of the opportunities regardless of what happens tonight.

Still 40 in Fife but the winds are starting to howl a bit with nothing falling yet. Looks like the snow isn't too far I hope.

Reports of 12.6" in Ucluelet on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Wow!

It's normally a terrible place for snow but also gets some of the most intense precipitation rates in the region so even if it's barely cold enough for snow they can put up huge numbers with even one of our typical fronts. I wonder what the precip ratio for that snow is, probably more like 5:1.

The ECMWF spits out a pretty insane 18 inches of snow for Seattle on this run.

It’s a pretty weird set up this event tonight. Really strong south winds but the temperatures falling and it’s snowing hard.

That is rare.
