Interesting that the ECMWF shows precip spreading farther north and east into Seattle when the low makes steady progress to the southwest from now through tomorrow morning.

I swear the low looks like it's moving to the NE on the IR imagery...

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Saturday night/Sunday event

Such a strange system... brings 2-3 inches of snow in a short time during the night and before dawn the SW wind is gusting to about 35 mph across all of the Seattle area and the temp is in the mid to upper 30 by 7 a.m.   But it doesn't actually warm up that much and its not a true transition event.    Its a transition from the pre-existing dry air left over from this arctic air mass immediately to a polar maritime air mass.

Finally caught up on the forum just as it started snowing lightly here.

Very light flurries here in Fircrest also. Since I work in park maintenance I mentioned the EURO and the NAM showing potential snow on the ground tomorrow, so the crew put the snowplow back on one of our small dump trucks.  Hope I don't look foolish tomorrow 😀 Of course it doesn't take much snow to cause problems on the roads, so we will see. And the plow will be ready for the weekend major snowstorm that Cliff Mass says is coming, haha.

Feels like it's getting close here in the Auburn valley. The sky definitely has some "depth" to it and as I watch inbound flights to SeaTac they look to be obscured by some virga that clears from south to north. I like the timing given that it is cooling and dusk is approaching.

Nearing 8" and still dumping snow in Nanoose. Still doesn't look like any signs of it slowing down. I miss those surprise events. Victoria is a much tougher area to get snow, though it sometimes does better on the overrunning events

Just drove about 8 miles north to feed a cat. It was just a light drizzle for the first part of the trip near my house. All snow and sticking now that I’m in the Portland city limits. Saw tons of cars driving around with a bunch of snow on them and it made me incredibly jealous.

ECMWF showed 38 at SEA and it looks like it got up to at least 37.   I think the models might have a tough time with your area and cold air damming.

what did it show for bellingham? bremerton airport was only 34
