Looks like the radar is blowing up pretty good out here. I have to say the models haven't helped much at all tonight in predicting where these bands go or what they do. The HRRR has been total dog sh!t with this. Has made this whole thing  fun, fascinating and frustrating.

Really sustained event. We’re going on almost 24 hours now and this is the most ferocious impulse so far.

Moderate to very heavy snow approaching PDX to Hillsboro from the south. This looks to mainly impact those west of I-205, but this precip shield may expand further east too.

Well I’m off to bed as it is almost 3am here but it looks like the westside of the Portland area is going to score now! Praying that moisture is able to make it to north king county in the EPSL but I don’t think it will be more than 1/2” if it does. Still looking forward to this weekends snow!

Looks like this thing could last a bit too. Temps are cold too, I think colder than it got during the 2017 snowstorm. Not nearly as much here yet but this could be great

Portland recorded their second snowiest day on record and snowiest since 1943, with a very heavy snow band approaching

When I saw the pieces coming together like that on the meso models and the Euro, I could hardly believe my eyes. I knew immediately that someone between Salem and Vancouver WA was going to get crushed. Everything was nearly ideal. I absolutely had to get the word out. Snowing moderately here now and 29 degrees. Not coming down as hard as the radar would suggest, probably because it’s starting to dry out from the east wind. Still beautiful and will stick around for a little bit.

Looks like I'm in a great spot for this band. Only 2" so far for the event but I think that'll change soon

It was one of the best calls ever, seriously, and your analysis was spot on. Early in the day 925-850mb frontogenesis was already strengthening and now it's very strong over the northern WV across PDX metro. Just add precip lifting over the arctic boundary and PRESTO SNOW-STORMO!

Wilsonville cams went from wet pavement to completely snow covered in the last 30 minutes. Great to see some snow holes filled it late tonight.

I'm so glad it could verify for you! And it's just getting started man. After the BS you'd dealt with this last year, go out there and embrace it. Life doesn't get better than this for "our kind"...
