Minny_Weather
Had a nice surprise strong storm cell move through. Other areas of Lincoln weren't as lucky but on the Southeast side I got clipped by the area of heavy rain. About 10 minutes of torrential rain and very loud thunder. Made for a nice soaking. I'd say we got about 0.3" over that 10 minute span. Sun's back out and now it just feels like your average Summer day again. 73.8*F. Tom
I had a couple rounds of loud storms that rolled on through the area around 2:00am that woke me up. Some wx stations just NW of me picked up 1.25"-1.75" of rain while my area picked up .75". Not to shabby. This moisture should add to the humidity today. It's been a rather wet period across a lot of the Plains/MW region and well timed for the ag belt. A lot of places near the KC/MO region that have continuously been missed by hits, turned the corner this past week and have received some good soaking rains. Are these hints for the Autumn pattern or still the same ol' pattern? I think its a little bit of both.
Tom
While we are on the final legs of met Summer, there is one last storm system we will likely track early next week (8/28). It's been on my calendar as it fits both the LRC and BSR rule. The active pattern doesn't look like its letting up and this one in particular has my attention bc it will bring an end to the heat/humidity for a few days post-system, ushering in a nice cool airmass to end the month. Before that happens, we have some severe wx potential Sun night around the GL's region...will the Grand Rapids area turn the corner...finally???
