what ever happened to that guy?

He's just living life. He was in my wedding last month.

He is forecasting a cold winter and a long year for his Seahawks...

Weather models initialized at 12z perhaps missed the burst of rapid intensification -- or will too slowly ramp up to the observed Category 4 pressures (943-947 mb)

The tracks from the reliable models e.g. UKMET and ECMWF remain centered on a landfall in the Carolinas …

Another GFS model fail -- hyper-intensity due to lack of ocean coupling and poor "microphysics" causes garbage hurricane forecasts.

This afternoon's forecast is a "toss it" already.

The much more reliable UKMET and European model forecasts arrive in the next 2-hours.

Just saw this.....

Michael Ventrice@MJVentrice

The weather model news just keeps getting worse for the Carolinas. Based off recent intensity adjustments, we are now seeing the potential for Major Hurricane #Florence to achieve a Category 5 intensity prior to landfalling across the Carolinas. If correct, devastating news.

Jesse desperately needs to know if he was mad during the ceremony, bro.

He was in a pretty jovial mood. Perhaps a bit intoxicated.

I’m never moving to the Outer Banks. Ever. This is just a reminder of how dangerous that area has historically been...that narrow strip of barrier islands far removed from the Bay on the shoreline axis is no coincidence. They’ve been repeatedly hammered over time.

It really is a miracle that they’ve avoided something like this for over a century now. Those warm Gulf Stream waters in the mid/upper 80s are like rocket fuel for these storms. A surge of 20ft would overwash the majority of perpendicular barrier islands that people naively decided to build on.

That area should just be declared a national park or monument or something and off limits to private ownership.

I had Airbnb guests last week from the Houston area. They were saying there were some locations which experienced 3 "100 year" floods in the Houston area last year. Because of the changes in land use, the land is unable to absorb or move water to the gulf down there as it used to. They said in some areas the government is buying/condemning these flooded out homes and declaring them off limits to future development. It seems an expensive, but wise move.

With the research I’ve done so far I’m with you but would love to visit there. Looks like the Oregon coast from the Nags Head camera.

If that area survives I will definitely be hitting my cousin up for a visit. I know this area will probably get washed clean.

I wish these live camera feeds had sound

18z took a step toward the Euro for Friday/Saturday. Long range says fall is here to stay. Probably jumping the gun but still nice to see.

Fall begins when this area in the west valley finally gets a .5" event XD

Most of the region is way overdue for some extended wetness now. Might be dragging you guys along for the ride with us. :’)

We are actually due as well.    Two months is the normal length of the annual dry period here.

Its moves around... but its easily identifiable when you look at the daily precip in grid form for each year.

I don't post the pics and imply the same weather is happening in Oregon.     ;)

Its usually done when the weather is different here than other areas.
