I’m good with that just not continuous sun environment

Raining in CA today. It was pouring on the Seahawks. I have it on good authority that Californians love when it rains there.

Some people just dont give a **** if the sun shines everyday. Is it a requirement??

Who wants sun every day?

I know its rare enough around here to truly appreciate the sun we get.

If it was sunny every day then I would crave rain and clouds... like I did when we live in San Diego.

Clouds are evil. Drizzle is evil incarnate.

Variety is nice.   Its been quite decent in that regard this fall and early winter.    The only thing missing is snow here.

So bitter.

Now, now, you did make a joke about the Oregon drought earlier.

The trough later this week is a quick hitter, but as modeled will be the coldest air mass of the season, at least at the upper levels.

How low do the snow levels get?

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

You can make jokes about Portland being covered in sand dunes then get your feelers hurt over this? ;)

So brittle.

I was explaining Justin's running joke. He was the one pushing that narrative. Portland is not Blythe. Goofy kid!

And who said my feelings are hurt? :)

Imagine if you lived in a climate that was actually cloudy. Seattle gets a lot more sun than many big European cities like London, Paris, or Berlin for example.

No.   That was just referencing Justin saying he lives in Blythe... which is a hot place surrounded by sand.     Justin made the joke... I was repeating it because Bainbridge missed it and thought he really moved.

No he was talking our lack of wind.

I don't think so, no.

Sunshine is rare enough here for 9 months of the year that people really appreciate the sun we get.     Not a big deal.

Seattle averages 164 days of sun a year.

So basically, the sun is shining 45% of the time. Very rare.

Its rare enough outside of summer to be well appreciated when it happens.

The 00z was sure a s**t show

It could have been far worse and it beats a big fog/inversion ridge. Sunday morning looks potentially Snowy/Icy for the Gorge with a chilly east wind, moisture over top of it, and 850s -3c or so. If that weak 1004mb low were 150 miles further south that could be real interesting. 850s are actually quite chilly Friday-Sunday.

Isn't that normally the case with where you live?

Except that time 5 years ago they hit -10.

I heard North Bend is a lake after this week’s deluges. They are drowning!

#prayforsun

I can’t wait for the next wet summer in the PNW. Gonna be all Timper tantrum-combusta in here.

I guess. Just an observation. Doesn't mean I expect it to be differently, just that it seems a rare cold event here doesn't seem to be in the cards.

Might be waiting awhile. Hard to imagine next summer being anything but another scorcher between +ENSO events.

I think the square mile deep blue dot in the sea of dark brown is Tim’s house.

By you. Surprisingly there are no laws in the books yet that anyone else has to.

Did not say you have to agree.    But you generally do seem to appreciate our sunny days.   Even on this forum of weather nuts... a sunny day usually brings all kinds of praise.

Why are we having this discussion?    I did not bring this up.   Jim made a joke about Californians wanting sun... and I assured him that they do love their sun down there.
