Can't image Jan '78 bliz when OH residents had no where to go and some frozen to death. Horrible. Rural folks were burning everything in their homes to stay alive. That was a monster storm in so many facets. Only thing gonna die here is my phone battery! Hope you get power my friend! How did you fair? Snow is ver y heavy, helped some of my neighbors out with our two-stage blower. Some of the berms from the plow are 3 feet high.

Waiting for the official storm reports but this looking very similar amount to the 7.5" we got in January (hi LRC). Despite loss of power (hey if I have to be out why not when it's 40+F right?) this was an awesome storm. Saw cars and even SUVs stuck this morning. Something I never expected to see in the Metro! This was way more impactful than 1/25 with the ++SN actually stacking on the busiest of roads. 4 lane Ford Rd (the main drag in Canton) is only 1 lane each way with 12+ in the other lanes including the left turn lane. Fun morning getting around . Had to snag a portable heater then get to the office where they kept power. Gorgeous scenery! I’m surprised you had drifts. What was the temp? @Tom it got down to 29 last night. Was 31 for most of the event. Reminds me of how it looks at the West Coast ski areas. Like Timberline and White Pass. Tree branches were weighed down. Snow sticking on the side of our house. The last layer was more powder so It might explains some of the drifting. Wind was blowing sideways with snow, with thunder snow to boot. Snow was coming down so hard it was easily 2 inches: hour. Maybe even 3. Official report is 10.5 inches in Highland which is a few miles North of us. My measurement was 10.4 inches. Hoping you get some action in the snow game next week.
Niko
Here it is....even though it was a real nice scene out there today, you can still smell Spring in the air. Temps managed to get into the low 40s. Absolutely gorgeous day to be outside. Total snowfall here in Macomb county was 5.5". Jackpot was to my west where accumulations were between 6-10inches+. 5 Quote Snowfall for Winter 2023 -24 for Metro Detroit Area Oct 2023: 0.2" AN Nov 2023: 2.2" AN Dec 2023: 0.5" BN Insane!
