You got most of your snow in December right? Not quite sure what they are going to do. I know they already had school on several days that were supposed to be inservice days. The school has not said anything, and I've heard nothing but speculation from other parents. My neighbor who grew up here, said this is pretty common and they never made the days up when she was a kid. American public schools are pretty terrible. We had heard good things about this school, and it is so close to the house, it seemed like it would be nice for her to attend the local community school, but so far I've been pretty disappointed.

Here’s my season tally.  Too much work to convert it all to inches.  December and February were the big months.   The December storm came during the Christmas break so there wasn’t any snow days with that one.

58 inches... seems like that is above average for your area?

I think public schools are pretty adequate here where we live.   We have chose to send our oldest to a French immersion school. So she will be bilingual by the time she moves on to middle school.

12Z ECMWF shows the troughing focused to the east next weekend... sort of compromise between the ridgy GFS and the troughier GEM.    Very wet pattern for orographically favored areas of western WA and eventually NW Oregon with NW flow.   Higher snow levels than we have seen recently but still good for the mountains.

@LowerGarfield per this run the snow starts in the evening next Friday at Snoqualmie Pass but should be good if you can get through by 5 p.m.    We will be going the opposite direction late in the afternoon on that day heading to Pullman.

Yeah. We're hoping to go Sunday for the Kids Day. Hoping for Terrace Club since it's partially indoors. Hopefully we can say hi at the Cougars game this year, but not sure if you'll make it all the way just for Northern CO. We usually go to the fcs games since they are cheap.

Regarding weather, it's sunny and breezy outside. No snow last night. Trees are taking awhile to bud.

12Z EPS looks like the ECMWF for next weekend... likely a wet pattern but this set up usually leads to some distinct shadowing downwind from the Olympics.

Nice hail shower just came through Salem. Looks like some sunbreaks behind it. Maybe we can get some convective fun going. Wife says we've gotten another inch of snow at the house since I left.

So not much melting during the day?    Everything that has come through here today has been of the frozen variety but nothing on the ground.

I'm sure there will be some melting today, but it is 32 up there still and has been snowing steadily since about 9am. Looks like a break coming up so I'm guessing there will be some melting the trees will shed snow, and probably some convective showers of snow/grapuel this afternoon into the evening.

Looking at the Hrrr it shows a pretty nice snow fall here tomorrow morning and again on Sunday morning. I've found the Hrrr is pretty inaccurate close in and with amounts, but can be useful in determining when showers may be rotating through.

Lots of sun breaks now out here... and across most of King County.    Up to 44 here and 47 in North Bend now.   SEA is at 45.

It will likely crash hard late this afternoon once the c-zone gets established.

Looks like things are going to get ACTIVE this evening. Probably another fun commute.

Passed this yesterday, before the big incline, just a little slushy hail on the road, but enough to send this Prius off the road.

May be an image of car, tree and road
