Maybe I’m weird but I’ve always liked the early sunsets. The long evenings can be cozy. On the flip side I’ve always enjoyed the super late sunsets on the opposite side of the year too. I enjoy dynamism when it comes to daylight length throughout the year. To me it would be strange living at a lower latitude where daylight length and sun angle are more uniform year round. I realize this is just personal preference though.
Had a -5/-21 day during the January event that is both lowest high and low for the year. I believe the biggest single snow was 8” coming out of the deep freeze. We’ve had about 50” for the season, which is a bit below average, but it’s been unusual in that it’s melted quickly after every event except for during the January cold spell. Usually there’s snow on the ground almost continuously from November/December to March.
Rain should be a little more scattered today... then it turns mostly sunny by tomorrow through Tuesday. A well-timed 5-day stretch of nice weather centered over the weekend. Blessings... as Andrew says hundreds of times a week.
It's going to be a beautiful day here with sunshine and highs in the upper 60's. I started a thread for the upcoming storm early next week that could bring a variety of weather to the Plains.
