Hopefully this isn’t another Joplin. But it looks bad.

Joplin has a much larger population than Rolling Fork, MS.

Been hugging the south side of the c-zone here for hours... but that is the slight warmer side so its 36 with drizzle and the frogs are singing out there.   I assume they shut down when it gets to 32.   Not sure if that c-zone is going to slip south yet or not.   The middle and north side of c-zone is where the best conditions for accumulating snow are located.   The south side tends to have persistent south wind.  The wind has died down though now.

00Z GEM is on board with a deep trough next weekend as well.

But we still get 4 or 5 dry days before that depending on which model you are looking at so definitely some variety.   The GFS brings the rain in Friday morning but then its nice again by Sunday... GEM is dry until Friday night.

Currently 36.7 with some pretty heavy rain.

I was wondering about your area... you are about to be in the middle of the c-zone.

My UW son just landed from Mexico and is picking up his car in Seattle now and said its absolutely dumping rain with some snowflakes mixed in there.  He is coming home so he can get up early and go skiing tomorrow morning.   Quite the change of scenery for him.

@MossMan is that snow over you now?   Looks quite active up there again.

Lumpy clumps and 35! If I took a drive up behind our house at the higher elevation it’s probably all very wet snow I would bet.

Just across the street from the Microsoft campus. Very nice rain/snow mix going there’s some nice flakes mixing in. Surprised to see it snowing this far away from the foothills.

With the c-zone slowly lifting north... the ECMWF does not show much more precip from this troughy period for my area (or for the Seattle area) for the rest of the weekend.   Tomorrow and Sunday look to be mostly dry and partly sunny per the 00Z run.

ECMWF followed the GFS and GEM with the troughing for next weekend.   Ironically this will probably end up being a drier solution than the NW flow AR type event the 12Z run showed for next weekend.

Lol my ride home says he isn’t leaving until 1:30. If this thing stalls it might be quite the ride home. The snowfall rate in that video easily looked like it was an inch per hour at least.

I bet there there will be snow by the time you get to the top of Woodinville Duvall hill if that’s the way you go.

Chilly and mostly dry ECMWF run tonight.  Lots of frosty nights if it's correct.

Duvall is right in the middle of the heaviest precip right now... must be dumping there.

I’ll be going back through redmond ridge. Based off cams it seems to be sticking to the roads a bit up there.

Redmond ridge does pretty well for snow, like a 10 min drive from my old house in East Woodinville. Which was OP for snow at 500ft.

Redmond ridge cam. It’s definitely going to be a tough drive back for who’s driving me.

37F with some moderate rain. Nice night. Yesterday was nice with some off and on rain showers. We would occasionally get a bit of small hail too.
