Pulled off a 45/32 here with month to date average 38.2.

Almost another week of cold to go, and that could get extended.

I’m onboard with your enthusiasm for the cold stuff but can’t get over your godforsaken obsession with drought.

Definitely not how I pictured the worm 🐛 turning this winter. It was being debated if the early January pounding they got was a flash in the pan, but it’s becoming clear that this is at least a somewhat sustained intraseasonal pattern. Interesting for a Niña.

The million dollar question is whether this might mean a different kind of summer this year.

It's complicated.

In short I don't want drought though.

Thursday's setup looks pretty similar to 2/22, but during the day and without a stout Arctic frontal boundary. Still some sfc convergence enhancing precip where Gorge outflow and westerlies meet, but again, it's not nearly as sharp or as potent.

Big changes on the 12Z GFS... it came around to the idea of another cut off low on Thursday and Friday.     The speed increases after 120 hours due to resolution change.  Can't control that with WB loops.

Cold snap gets extended on the 12z GFS.  This is getting pretty crazy.

The GFS actually shows a nice bullseye of snow in my area tonight, but I'm not holding my breath.  I guess if there are enough chances one eventually has to happen.

Impressive lows this morning. 27 IMBY, 28 at SEA, and 23 in OLM.  What a run of cold weather.

Gem nails the canal again Thursday morning.  This is getting crazy. Looks like the gfs solution just a bit north kinda like the icon.

Am I being selfish in hoping that just one of these chances delivers something to MBY?  Just ridiculous how nothing seems to work out here with this cold snap.

We had fun playing in the snow and are warming up with hot cocoa and loose leaf tea. If I was more savvy I'd share pix of my son playing with his snow toys and face blurred.
