Saw them in 1996 and 2021 and it was pretty stunning how little they diminished in that time with very little digital help. They’re not much from a technical aspect but once you see them live there’s a whole new respect.

It’s pretty ironic that back in the day Rush, arguably the greatest prog rock trio of all time, opened for them.

Rush was incredibly clean live. So glad I saw them.

Kind of odd that OR is colder than WA in general the last couple of days with the exception of mins west of the Cascades.  Getting dangerously close to 50 here today. 🤮

I guess the incredible late season streak of sub 50 highs had to end sometime.

I actually got to see them at the Gorge.  They even did 2112 that day.  Very good band for sure!

Overcast and 43 here. Haven’t seen 50 since February 20. Could make it another few days if we’re lucky.

Last night was pretty interesting.  A lot of places west of the Cascades in WA were colder than the east side with a lot of places down into the mid to upper 20s.  OLM even managed 23.

Some rankings for the last week of February (2-22 to 2-28) west of the Cascades.

PortlandColdest on record (33.7)
Salem: 2nd coldest on record (35.2) after 1962 (30.2)
Hillsboro: Coldest on record (32.2)
Eugene: 4th coldest on record (36.7) after 2011 (36.1), 2019 (36.1) and 1962 (33.8)
Astoria: 3rd coldest on record (36.2) after 2011 (35.9) and 1962 (35.1)

Olympia: 3rd coldest on record (32.6) after 1962 (30.3) and 2011 (29.4)
Seattle: 3rd coldest on record (34.6) after 2011 (32.3) and 1962 (31.9)
Bellingham: Tied with 2011 for coldest on record (31.3)
Hoquiam: 3rd coldest on record (36.5) after 2011 (35.4) and 1962 (34.7)

In Eastern OR and the Columbia Basin, it looks like 1993 is by far the coldest last week of February in a lot of stations. Must have been deep snowcover I'm guessing

Another couple of weeks of cold will probably tilt the map mostly green.

Yeah it got down to 25 in Duvall this morning. Out at our house in Quincy where I’m at right now it only got down to 30. I think cloud cover was the culprit.

Summer 2010 vibez.

More mocking from the same person.  Pretty funny that the person who complains the loudest and is so despondent every summer is so vocal mocking other people.  Nature dishes out whatever it wants.  Better accept it... hot or cold.

What kind of summer did we have in the Puget Sound area in 2011?  Or Portland also, though I don't live there.  Or 1962?

2011 was a really nice summer. I don’t know what 1962 was like off the top of my head, but I can tell you it was probably cooler than any summer we’ve seen in the last 25 years without even looking.

Thanks, that was what I was thinking and hopefully this summer will reverse the trend of hot and dry summers we have had lately.  I am a cool weather fan and prefer summer temps under 75, though I know that is not a popular opinion with some people on here, but just my preference.

75 is pretty close to summer perfection in my opinion.

Looks like the average high at SEA was 74.9 in July 2010. Summer perfection.

Since you say you don't want to interact but then keep up the passive aggressive mocking... I will respond since you obviously love me so much.

I recently watched the satellite loop for all of July 2010... it was really nice overall after the 4th.   The worst part of 2010 was mid May through mid June.

July 2011 was really good.  July average high was 71.5 IMBY.  The last really old school summer we had, although I think August was still pretty warm.

Things dried out and we needed to water in 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2012.   But not in 2019.    Warm and consistently wet summer.

Between 75 and 80 for me! Though I do LOVE when we are up in the 90’s and it’s slow to cool off in the evenings so you are super comfy out on the deck after dark! That is why I so enjoy being over in Orondo in the summer since that is more the norm. It was still about 90 when I took this pic after 10pm! Perfection!

Hit 50 today.  Daffodils are almost ready to bust out.

I'm trying to root some grape starts and blueberry clippings.  The cold nights are not helping but these nice sunny afternoons can't hurt.

Looks like a dry week is on tap.

Hopefully Oregon gets some more snow.  They have been starved of it most winters.

Final total was just over 11”. Ended up changing to 32.9 degree rain for a few hours which was surprising. It turned back to snow but never really accumulated after that. There is a ridiculous amount of snow up there from the last few weeks
