The pattern appears pretty disjointed coming up, not the type of pattern that delivers super low snow levels in practice.

Good to see east Oregon continue to score. They need it, the reservoir situation there is pretty bad. The models keeping giving that area precip, much of it snow!

Modules seem pretty set on the Portland area hitting 60 on Friday or Saturday. All good things must come to an end. I for one will enjoy the nice days. One factor that will help alleviate the pain is that night should remain chilly throughout, and more rain is right on the horizon.

My wife asked me why I haven’t put all of the snow stuff away yet…I said the PNA is trying to tank again and it’s still March so snow is still on the table here. She looked slight confused and also saddened by the news, but I did tell her that we might have a warm weekend!

True, and at the end of the day a couple 60 degree days is nothing in the ocean of what looks to be a cold month. My guess is we stay cool/chilly overall until mid/late April. Best case scenario is a 2012 type evolution, that one raced toward Nino and then settled back to neutral, worst case scenario is probably 2018.

You can see it starting to build, especially as the models continue to trend in the direction they are.

Panic mode?   Don't be stupid.   That was just an accurate observation.    Nothing more.    Don't make something out of nothing.   I often challenge the cold group-think leaders on here at any time of the year.

Speaking of panic, some here seem to be in near-panic about the impending 60-burgers despite it being abnormally late in the season to be scoring the first ones.

They have to rationalize a couple normalish days.    Its really panic projection that happens on here every spring.    Summer is approaching.
